Sounds like he's out of the coma this morning (the crash was yesterday morning): https://sports.yahoo.com/article/ali...164023151.html It was medically induced to help reduce the damage of the smoke inhalation.
He hit a fire hydrant and tree. The tree did most of the damage. The photos of the wreck are crazy. Either he was going insanely fast, or the vehicle has the physical integrity of a cardboard box (or both).
The truck burst into flames at the scene but bystanders were able to pull him from the wreck. It sounds like the crumpled state of the vehicle is what saved his life because they were able to pry the unbreakable glass out of the way enough to pull him out.
It also reportedly burst into flames again hours later at the tow yard where it was taken.
