Hot take: Marchand might be the best player for the Panthers in this series so far.

Yanni gourde with the face wash on both Tkachuk and Bennett.
Playing with fire in the "#### around and find out" game.

Rhino!!!
He had a stick in his hands and still softly rolled it into the empty net.
Goodnight Tampa Bay, and #### you. Hate for that team is second only to Edmonton. It's because of my fandom as both a Flames and Panthers fan.

I'm not sure if it's been posted on here or not but I read a couple of days ago on Twitter that speculation was if Tampa Bay lost tonight Cooper might be fired.

That makes no sense.
He has a few elite/good forwards, 1 good defenseman, and a goalie, and he willed them in to the 2nd spot in the division.
He's a brilliant coach, he just doesn't have the horses anymore.

4th line and 3rd pair on the PP.
That's a sign of respect by Maurice. Good on him to not try and run up the score.

Panthers with a convincing series win...but every game was hard fought and very close
Now they await the Leafs/Sens series to be resolved.

He also doesn’t want dirty kucherov and gourde taking key players out I’d bet. Like cernak trying to get at Marchand.

If he is coaching the Kings, would have swept the Grease Pigs already.

They can’t fire Cooper yet. Give us a few years here so we can have a team ready for him.

If Jon Cooper was ever available 25 teams would be lining up to obtain his services.
He is quite possibly the best coach of his generation.

I generally like Cooper, but Tampa is his only NHL coaching gig. Coaching a roster like Tampa's isn't really about coaching players, it's more about managing players (ice times, lines, personalities, etc).
Also, TBL's playoff record under him isn't as good as some might think. They won the two COVID Cups, sure, but lots of losses in there too. In 13 seasons of coaching one of the deepest rosters in the NHL...
- missed
- first round loss
- finals loss
- conference loss
- missed
- conference loss
- first round loss
- COVID cup 1
- COVID cup 2
- finals loss
- first round loss
- first round loss
- first round loss
Two misses, five first round exits, two third round exits, two cup losses during real seasons and two cup wins during COVID.
I mean, there's probably dozens of coaches that would kill to have that kind of record, but when you consider he's been coaching a stacked team of all-stars the entire time... it kinda dulls the luster a bit.
Again though, before people jump down my throat, I'm not saying he's not a great coach... I'm just saying there's not a lot of coaching with a team like Tampa. Let's see him go to Chicago or San Jose. Buffalo would really be a great test. Those are teams that need coaching.
Edit: actually, it just occured to me that his first season (and first miss) was a mid-season (might have been later in the season actually) replacement, so that one's not fair to include.

Not many coaches coach deep into the playoffs every year. If you pull up most successful coaches that have won a cup or cups you will see similar results. He went to 3 finals in a row. 4 overall. I’d take him here in seconds.

They won two straight cups and made the finals the next year...pretty ridiculous to try and downplay it. Florida in 2021 was also hardly covid times lol, they had full crowds.
Maurice has been to the finals 3 times in 27 seasons of coaching and has one cup, its not easy.
