Matthews sucks in big games, I've noticed.

Is this Tree's first year or second? These seasons all run together. But it's not on him. The "superstars" on this team never show up.

I think it's his second?

But what about all the supporting cast he signed?

Tanev. Awesome. Carlo awesome. Stolarz. Awesome. OEL. Awesome.
This team can't score goals when they need to. That's on the players. If thw guys that are paid to produce can't do it that's on them. Dubas stuck with these guys way too long. Treveling was handcuffed. He can now move on from Marner for sure. JT can stay if he is willing to take a big paycut.

I didn’t get to watch today’s game at all but the problem is their top guys have the same game skills. Nylander is the grittiest of the top three. Marner will never go through anyone. I can’t say how bad that is from a big game perspective. They should’ve dealt him a long time ago. Tavares tends to show up for the big game and play hard but he doesn’t have the skating ability to carry the team. In any case if the Leafs end up playing the Lightning I still think they take it.

Like OEL, Jarnkrok and Tanev?
Man he really needed to update his (frankly questionable) player crushes. All of them well post-apex and he still goes after them.
What a buffoon.

OEL and Tanev have been great. Jarncrok was Dubas. Not sure you know what you are talking about...Plus let's not blame the scrubs. The stars consistently go missing after game 4. These pkayoff losses are on them. Thwy can never score. The players you listed are not on this team for their offence.

Last year, after the Leafs choked again, Treliving had a chance to shake up the core and didn't. That's on him.

If he wins he get the credit, if he losses its the last guys fault. Nice gig

I just said they're post-apex and Treliving never updated his short list of players he was obsessed with here, which is all true, even if they've been okay for them.
I couldn't care less about the leafs anyways. They're a trash team with parasitic fans. I only care that they lose so I don't have to hear anything about their dumb ####s.

He had the same opportunity here, and flubbed it and 2 stars walked.
Some of that was on covid, but he really isn't a good gm outside of player for player trades.

Just watched the highlights and Cozens backbreaking shorthanded goal, two Leafs including Nylander just had to match Cozens skating effort from the Sens blueline, but both had a controller disconnect.
Not a fan of the Sens or the Leafs but the handwringing and squirming from the media sites and homer Simpson and Cuthbert is enjoyable as the Leafs stumble.

I love how the Leaf fan nation and the ghosts of chokes past seem to manifest a choke into existence almost every year. This has the exact feeling of when Montreal came back from 3-1 on the Leafs in 2021. All the Leafs fans know it too!

They were exhausted as they stayed out for the latter part of the PP. Was a great play by Gaudette to pick off the pass and Cozens to recognize that skate it out to make it a 2 on 1.
