Just look at Nurse/Bouchard on Byfield's goal. Or that Kings' PP goal where the guy slam-dunks it in from the blue paint. Even on the floater GWG in GM 1, the Kings' fwd beats a "backchecking" Draisaitl into the zone by a country mile.
Skinner may not be great, but the team "defence" in front of him is DEFINITELY...
NO! GOOD!

Yah, Skinner should paint a 'scapegoat' on his goalie mask. My favourite advanced stats tool (because I'm bedazzled by pictures), the ol' 'deserve to win meter' on Moneypuck had the Kings at roughly 73% and 68% for the first two games. I might have those backwards but, either way, the Kings stomped them.

But, as with all goalies leaving Edmonton, intense rehabilitation therapy for shell-shock is required.
Seriously why would any decent calibre goalie sign there? Every single one has had their career crater.

Has anyone here ever worn, physically, an Edmonton Oilers jersey?
Like if you lost a bet, or had to appease a dying loved one, etc.
Or as a gag, with some sort of bastardized name bar?
Did you have to bathe in a tub of tomato juice, or use de-skunking dog shampoo afterwards?

I am told by experts that tomato juice doesn't work. You have to wear some other team's jersey for at least a year to get rid of the stink.

Skinner is a statue in net and not in the good way, the guy can barely move side to side and is slow to react

He isn't quick, he doesn't have good technique, his positioning is off, and his mobility is pretty much shot. He's a statue of limitations.

Hey everyone I need a little bit of help.. I met some people who don't understand why I am so anti-Oilers as a Canadian, and I told them the main thing is the quality of the people in the organization. The oilers being the scum of the earth. They are asking for examples and I'm telling them vague things about Perry, Kane, Mactavish, Katz etc..
Can you guys help me out with a list of the questionable moral characters of the oilers.. As soon as they see the rap sheet of all the players I'm sure they will switch to being fans of the flames.

Here is a list of Edmonton Oilers players and executives who have encountered legal or disciplinary issues over the years:
⸻
🧊 Players
Grant Fuhr (Goaltender)
• In 1990, Fuhr was suspended for 59 games after admitting to long-term cocaine use. The NHL deemed his conduct “dishonorable and against the welfare of the league.”
Nikolai Khabibulin (Goaltender)
• In 2010, Khabibulin was convicted in Arizona for DUI and excessive speeding, with a blood alcohol content of .164—over twice the legal limit. He faced up to six months in jail.
Patrick Côté (Forward)
• Côté, who played briefly for the Oilers, was arrested in 2002 for transporting 30 pounds of marijuana. In 2014, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison for robbing two banks in Quebec.
Jarret Stoll (Forward)
• In 2015, Stoll was arrested in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine and ecstasy. He later pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors.
Ben Eager (Forward)
• Eager was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and threatening bodily harm following a bar altercation in Toronto in 2012.
Connor McDavid (Forward)
• In January 2025, McDavid was suspended for three games after cross-checking Vancouver’s Conor Garland in the head. He forfeited over $195,000 in salary and did not appeal the suspension.
Darnell Nurse (Defenseman)
• In April 2025, Nurse received a one-game suspension for a cross-check to the head of Kings forward Quinton Byfield.
Sam Carrick (Forward)
• During the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, Carrick was fined $2,213.54 for slashing Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov.
⸻
🧑#💼 Executives and Owners
Peter Pocklington (Former Owner)
• Pocklington was sentenced in 2010 to six months of house arrest and two years’ probation for perjury during bankruptcy proceedings. He had failed to disclose assets while claiming insolvency.
Daryl Katz (Current Owner)
• In 2022, Katz was named in a Nevada civil suit alleging he paid an 18-year-old ballerina for sex. The allegations were later withdrawn, and Katz denied any wrongdoing.
Glen Sather (Former GM and Coach)
• In 1984, Sather was convicted of common assault for slapping a 70-year-old fan during a game. He received an absolute discharge, meaning no criminal record.
Stan Bowman (Current GM)
• Hired in 2024, Bowman previously resigned from the Chicago Blackhawks in 2021 after an investigation found he failed to act on sexual assault allegations against a team staff member.

I like to rag on the Oilers too but this stuff doesn't make sense. Don't the Flames currently have a former player on trial? There was also the Bill Peters situation or some also find Theo Fleury offensive with his hot takes.
Every organization has its issues. Honestly, hockey just has its issues.

The difference is as soon as we found out about those situations, the people involved were dropped. Oilers actively hire the scum.

How can people not understand the difference between FORMER player and hiring or signing someone AFTER they have committed a crime?

You think it'd be a simple concept to figure out.
Player or coach does bad thing or has a bad thing they did in the past come to light, Flames immediately cut ties with that player or coach.
Player, coach or manager is proven to be a despicable piece of garbage and released/cut/fired by whatever org they are a part of, Oilers immediately hire or sign that player, manager or coach.

T'is but a small example of the litany of heinous, capricious and venal acts perpetuated, nay encouraged, by the Oilers organization.

The Oilers have allowed 20 goals in 3 games in the playoffs. Think about that, savour that.
Pickard was pretty horrific last night, he's got a slow glove and and seems to be 20% blind in the left side.
Skinner wasn't great, but I think if Oiler fans and reporters were honest, Skinner was left out to dry by a defense and forward group with zero defensive awareness, and play with all the physicality without the puck of a team playing a exhibition game against toddlers.
The Kings seem to have these long stretches where they lose focus and become blindingly incompetent. But have the battle in this series is that there's literally no resistance to the Kinds when they have the puck.
There's also a sense that McDavid and Draisaitl really don't give two taco bell squirts about their game away from the puck, and the rest of the team are following their example.
I would feel better about the Kings winning 2 out of the next 4 games, then the Oilers winning 3 out of the next 4 games.
The question is, would the Oilers fire another coach, the infamous house dwarf Knobby if they lose in this series, I mean the collars are getting tighter and tighter on the Oilers on the ice and in the executive suite.

I don't understand why one needs to justify the customary hatred towards a rival. Let's be honest, if the organization behaved like absolute saints I'd still find a way to paint them in a light where they're the spawns of satan.
Doesn't "E=NG" suffice?
