Someone should call child services in Saskatoon on those parents standing behind the deplorable. That is child abuse making kids under 2 listen to PP for an hour.

Ugh! Is it over yet? This election sucks, so much stress and it is rational.
There are a lot of frightened Autistic folks down in the States and the reason for that could spread here so easily. The kind of thinking RFK is involved in is already here in Alberta, we really don't need it on a federal level too.

Maybe there is a nascent fear of wealth taxes, probably more from rhetoric out of US democrats than Canadian Liberals. And people who carry most of their wealth within their home equating that to a tax on home equity, but I'm not sure it's in their platform.
The closest thing I could find to it was page 55, where they said they would conduct a review of fair tax policy, but specifically referenced corporate taxes, and not home equity or wealth.
edit: I found it, it looks like maybe a fake problem Poilievre made up, that he could promise not to do, so that people would jump to the conclusion that others wanted to do it. https://financialpost.com/federal_el...dp-health-care
They might not do it but you can bet your ass they have considered it.

I'm confused, you make it sound like it's a bad thing if they were considering something or giving it thought. Shouldn't the government consider all aspects of taxation and spending including potential areas of taxation and spending?
Or are you just a "forget consideration, forget experts - lets shoot from the hip!" kinda guy

I'd like to engage with this earnestly, because from prospective widereceiver did the right thing, he saw something anecdotal with dubious sourcing and asked for feedback on the claim, in a place where through experience you can at least expect to engage with real people who will make an effort to provide sourcing for their affirmations and/or refutations of the claim.
Then the claim was refuted in the form of linking directly to the source (the liberal platform), and 2 reputable news articles (Financial Post and Calgary Herald, not exactly liberal bastions), which clearly stated that this was an unfounded claim from a political opponent without veracity.
You read all of that I assume, because you responded to it. And your reaction was to say "You bet they've been thinking about enacting this policy that the other guy just made up"? That was the conclusion?
And to be clear, we already effectively have policies like this in place at the municipal level, it's call property tax. So it's not like taxing the value of property is something unthinkably offside, it is just there is no evidence whatsoever that the Liberals are considering doing this on a national level in the upcoming parliament.

What are the chances that the BQ and CPC work together to form government?
Just like eggs: everything is broken and separated.
After all the bellyaching about the Liberal/NDP arrangement, I’m going to bet that the average PP fan won’t mind snuggling up to separatists at all. It ties into the Wexit folks in his tent too.

Sorry I will shut up. Didn’t mean to start a whole thing.
To me the principal residence exemption is kind of entrenched in Canadiana and I would hope this remains untouchable along with home equity.

While this would be entertaining, I find diminishing joy in revealing the right as hypocrites and would really prefer they just get decimated and embarrassed.
