Wasn't that Jacksonville/Brown's trade a touch worse than the much mocked trade from the Kevin Costner movie Draft Day?

It's been fun watching the talking heads that have spent the last year hitching their respective wagons to the Shedeur PR hype machine out of Colorado being flummoxed and irate that no one wants to draft this amazing football player. It's almost like he's not actually good? Nahhhh

Ward wouldn't have been one of the first three QB's taken last season. None of these guys are can't miss prospects. I do think that the Deon being his father is as much a hindrance as it has been an advantage. He doesn't have the strongest arm and took too many sacks but I'm not sure he's worse than Dart and it's probably more that the combination of his flaws and baggage of Deon was probably enough to deter teams from investing a first round pick for him.

You wonder how much having the coach for most of his football career being Dad hurt him. Surely didn't help, even if his dad was a low-key nobody it would probably be an issue for a lot of teams.

He isn't as bad as everyone is saying, and he isn't as good as he thinks he is or the media pumps out.
I think the issue is he is slow to see his reads, and has poor feel of pressure and athletic to escape.
He probably has Geno Smith potential. In a rush back scheme, and limited in attempts.

The Draft Day trade was 7th pick + 2 more firsts for 1st overall.
I wouldn't say the trade was worse, but the fact that it's even close is hilarious.

I get the worry, but as a Falcons fan it was about time this organization addressed the pass-rush issues. It has plagued this team for a long time now, and these two kids provide massive upgrade's, and upside moving forward. It was an overpay certainly, but I like the initiative and risk. It may backfire in a big way, but you honestly won't find to many fans of this team being upset with the decision.

My worry is more the price paid.
The Giants moved up to 25 right before the Falcons did and paid an extra 2nd instead of an extra 1st.

It's also that the board broke in such a way that pass rushers were falling too. They could have traded up to 33 instead and gotten a quality prospect like Green or Ezeiruaku for much less cost.
