Seems like stores have decent "stock" unless it's like a fulfill thing as you go that might not be available right on release day. Which is fine I guess to bypass scalpers. Hopefully everybody that wanted one is good and locked in.
I can't imagine prices will be going down for the next year or two. They might even go up with the world shenanigans.

Just received an email from Amazon for the invitation to pre-order. I have a best buy one confirmed but might order this as a back-up in case things are delayed.
Which makes me wonder how many other people have multiple pre-orders which might be exasperating this whole shortage issue.

I think quite a few.
I had one through Wal-Mart, but was reading on Reddit about orders getting cancelled. My delviery day was like June 12th or something.
After seeing the gong show of Best Buy decided to go to Market Mall at 10:45. Waited in line for about an hour, but got a console with release on launch day.
Cancelled the Wal Mart order so someone else can snag it.

Managed to snag one from Walmart when they went live at "midnight" on Weds (10 PM in Calgary).
Took like 10 tries and i had to go back and re-add it, but i assume they did the rolling stock thing.
Any reason to buy a Switch 2 Pro controller over just buying a regular Switch Pro controller for $20 less?

I added myself to the Amazon invite request list. I have flip flopped from "totally getting this at launch" to "hot damn that's expensive" to "my kid is more into PC gaming lately" to "screw it - I deserve nice things" to "I'll wait for things to settle down" and back around again.
We'll see how disciplined about accepting the invite when/if I receive one from Amazon.

I thought the same thing, then figured I'm going to get it at some point anyway, and realized the original Switch is still selling for it's launch price so there probably won't be significant discounts coming any time soon for Switch 2.

I would say the PS3 was the last time a price point really screwed over a launch. I've clearly fallen into the trap of being a cheap person that assumes everyone else is cheap. Super interested to see what launch numbers look like for this thing, because it's looking pretty solid.
