How does it work in Canada, can they re-try or is it done?

The tweet said they're selecting new jurors today so I guess that means they're starting over again.

A mistrial results in no verdict at all, so the Crown can always choose to retry the case.

Rumour has it there was an altercation in the hall outside the courtroom yesterday. May have involved member(s) of jury plus witnesses or family members.

All with a grain of salt.

This sounds like it was probably a good choice, if something came out that compromised the jury somehow, better to start again than go through a whole trial and have it declared a mistrial and then things released in this trial may not be admissible to a new trial, or could taint future jury pools. Seems like being extra careful about assuring a fair trial for both sides.
