That's fair. I think I'm more connecting the dots to Cliff's previous claims that liberalism won out because they were the best ideas. If he believes that Christianity is a major component of liberalism, then it would stand to reason that he would also at least partially think it was widely adopted for similar reasons.
However, I could be misremembering his arguments in those areas.

Anyway, how about the PBO showing that the CPC has the least fiscally responsible platform. Almost like they aren't actually conservatives.

I mean that's on brand. Conservatives have always been the least fiscally responsible party.

Do you have a link to the least fiscally responsible part?
When I was looking at it the problem was the revenue assumptions which aren’t vetted my the PBO

Fair enough, the PBO just said it was more deficit inducing, and because it's modern conservatives I jumped to the conclusion that we would get less for our money.

That ad with the two old white guys at the driving range is hilariously bad. Who in the world thought that was a good idea? WHO do they think would see that ad and want to vote for the CPC? It’s so bad that it’s borderline satire!

What would that even mean? Is he suggesting they are going going to actively push for a housing recession? That seems more like something that would come out of the policy making by slogan party.
If anything Canada needs housing prices to hold through a little bit of inflation, but housing prices dropping would make the housing crisis worse, because either people would become slightly upside down on their mortgages and unable to move, reducing the amount of housing on the market, or people would start abandoning houses they are are very upside down on to foreclosure, which would make 2008 look fun, because there would be supply on the market, but people and the banks couldn't afford to buy it.

He means the Libs will tax our home equity, and it’s in their platform.

I'm having a hard time finding that?
https://liberal.ca/wp-content/upload...ada-Strong.pdf
Maybe there is a nascent fear of wealth taxes, probably more from rhetoric out of US democrats than Canadian Liberals. And people who carry most of their wealth within their home equating that to a tax on home equity, but I'm not sure it's in their platform.
The closest thing I could find to it was page 55, where they said they would conduct a review of fair tax policy, but specifically referenced corporate taxes, and not home equity or wealth.
edit: I found it, it looks like maybe a fake problem Poilievre made up, that he could promise not to do, so that people would jump to the conclusion that others wanted to do it.

The straw grasping at the finish line is palpable, but actually working a little it seems.

Your friend has been duped by fake news.
There's an image going around with this headline & a CBC logo on it, they probably saw that.
It's fake, like much of the information conservative supporters are sharing online.
It should make you & your friend consider the seriousness of fake information overwhelming our news and social media and how important it is to combat that. Please consider that when voting.

Conservatives saying that the Liberals are going to tax home equity is their attempt to create a Liberal boogieman equivalent to the Liberal's saying that the Cons will take away abortion. It's not the first time they've said the Libs were going to do this.
Only problem is that the abortion one is at least somewhat based on truth so people actually buy it, whereas the home equity tax is just smoke and mirrors.

Remember (and remind your friends), if you see anything posing as news on Facebook, it's not real because Facebook blocks all legitimate news content in Canada.
