Hispanic American citizen votes for Trump because he likes deportations.
Gets pulled over and cuffed by ICE.
Quote:
Jensy Machado said he's a U.S. citizen and provided NBC 4 Washington documentation of his legal status.
Machado was driving to work Wednesday with two other men when he was stopped by ICE agents near his home, he said.
Confused by the scene, Machado said he didn't know what was happening and why agents surrounded his pickup truck.
“They just got out of the car with the guns in their hands and say, 'turn off the car, give me the keys, open the window,'” Machado told Telemundo 44’s Rosbelis Quinońez, who first reported his story. “Everything was really fast.”
According to Machado, the agents said the name of a man who had a deportation order, someone who had given Machado’s home address.
Machado told them that wasn’t his name — he didn’t know anyone by that name — and offered to show them his real ID-compliant Virginia driver’s license.
“They didn’t ask me for any ID,” Machado said. “I was telling the officer if I can give him ID, but he said just keep my hands up, not moving. After that, he told me to get out of the car and put the handcuffs on me."
An agent then asked Machado how did he get into the U.S. and if he was awaiting a court date or if he had a pending immigration case.
"And I told him I was an American citizen," Machado said. "He looked at his other partner like, you know, smiling, like saying, can you believe this guy? Because he asked the other guy, ‘Do you believe him?’”

Saying it was anything but the lab was to protect China and the world's dependence on their manufacturing. These days that's not as much of a concern, so we can finally say that it was a Chinese made virus that got out. Remember how upset people got, when that was said during the pandemic? That part is retrospectively cringey.
The world is safer if we are honest about it.

This isnt just lab leak from gain of function research though. This claims that parts of the virus are not found in nature a claim which has been quite well debunked.
This does not appear to be a move toward a rational position.

Another executive order today (wonder why he wont go thru Congress to try and pass legislation)
Attorney General shall initiate appropriate action to repeal or amend the implementing regulations for Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for all agencies"
What's Title VI you ask?
"prohibits discrimination against or otherwise excluding individuals on the basis of race, color, or national origin"

It's an overcorrection of an overcorrection (political correctness). People who deem things unfair in the recent past now have a voice through Trump. "Own the Libs".

Apparently Trump was back to talking about Canada this morning for the first time in a month during a scrum with reporters, saying that the auto tariffs could go up, and that they don’t need our cars or lumber, and the rest of his usual bulls***.
Apparently in the same conversation he said Carney was very nice and that he “works well with Canada”, while also saying we’d work better as a state. I honestly thought he was gonna wait until after the Canadian election to start back up with this nonsense, but he obviously can’t help himself.
Dude is such a f’n clown.

It’s not stupidity. He’s not interested in being correct. It’s about making a bunch of stupid people angry. He knows they don’t care about the truth.
But yes he is very stupid and the bullet would be great if not for the awful chain of succession.

I kind of feel like we should self-police here and put a moratorium on talking about what Trump says. It's been 10 years, we all know (or should know) how pointless it is. Why waste the brain cells even typing out a thought, he sure as #### doesn't.

You want people to not talk about the actions/words of the president in the American politics thread?

There's a task force now to eradicate anti-christian bias.
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-...gov-rcna202663
Quote:
Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday convened the first meeting of a task force President Donald Trump has charged with searching for and eradicating what he’s described as “anti-Christian bias” within federal agencies and regulatory practices. Joined by other Cabinet officials, Bondi kicked off the session by attacking the administration of former president Joe Biden, who she said had “abused and targeted Christians.”

I think it has more to do with the fact these people have been given permission to be the total s###bags they always were than anything concerning an overcorrection on PC values.
It's not PC to expect people to be decent and kind.

I'm saying almost everything he says is simply verbal diarrhea. And if you look at previous versions of this thread since Trump in politics started, you'll find the same pattern:
- Trump says something barely coherent
- Someone posts it
- We laugh and talk about how did this reetard become President?
- We might mock Americans
- Wash, rinse, repeat.
And I say this as someone who used to post every "God he's dumb as ####" quote. At this point is there any value to bringing it up? The cycle is the same. Now, direct policy items are different and should be discussed. But his dementia ramblings? I'd kind of like to never talk about, read about, or think about, ever again.

Nothing about having a concrete opinion on the origin of the virus is really a rational position given the evidence so far. There are reasons to believe that it could be natural origin or that it could be a lab leak, but neither has enough evidence behind it to really draw a firm conclusion.
The big difference is that the missing evidence from the natural origin hypothesis is pretty normal in these kinds of situations. It took 15 years for them to determine where SARS came from and they still haven't really figured out the source of Ebola.
Whereas with the lab leak theory, there are just some things that aren't easily explained based on current info. For instance, I've still never seen a satisfactory explanation of how there would be two separate lineages of the virus present at the wet market if it was a lab leak. That would require two separate leaks (a person can't be infected with different lineages) that both ended up in the same market. Whereas with natural origin, it would be pretty easily explained by it circulating in animals for a period of time and mutating into different lineages before spreading to humans in Wuhan.

No offense, but you might want to view your information sources a bit more critically. The Huanan market is about a 30 minute drive from the Wuhan Institute of Virology; they're not close to one another at all.
