Nope would've been 2x the movie with a sensible theatrical edit.
It had some goodies but was so drawn out, which did not add to the effect. Cut it down and it probably is a much more enjoyable experience. Was like Peele got into his own head thinking he's a prime-Shamyalan or something.
Gosh, I thought Nope it was one of the best monster movies I've seen lately. Really engaging and unsettling IMO. I'm in for everything Peele does.
Love the fact he was an amazing comedian before going so hard into horror with equal success.
Baller.
I probably went in with high expectations, as I enjoyed Get Out and Us so much. Nope just felt kind of Meh. Whereas the other two killed it with the pacing and worked really well on an intellectual level too.
Critically, Nope's reviews were good but not great, so I'm not the only one that felt that way.

Lol, that looks awful. The original movies were also bad, so it's weird that they would try to reboot this.
Original was a smash hit at box office. I think they figure they can re-ignite some nostalgia with Love-Hewitt and Prinze Jr in this one while also getting a new younger audience with the teenage slasher genre, which has been pretty quiet lately.

Nope faceplanted in the second half of the film.

The two most recent Scream movies were both huge successes, so I guess they’re trying to jump on the “requel” bandwagon: get a cast of young, hot actors to team up with the OG cast, and have them pass the torch. It’s worked well for Scream, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and Jurassic Park. But those are all highly successful franchises. The I Know What You Did films, not so much. I’m not convinced it’s gonna work with this one.
