According to Wikipedia, he died on April 2, 2005 and Easter that year was March 27. So, he died 6 days after.

That's 3 popes in my lifetime. The next will be the 4th. Wonder which way they're going to go this time around.
With the rapid swing in global ideologies they may want a "wartime" voice to try and stay the course.

If the College of Cardinals want to shake things up, we might see a Black pope. Sub-Saharan Africa, along with SE Asia, are the growth regions of Catholicism. However, most of the Cardinal Electors appointed to the college by Francis are fairly liberal, while the African contenders are conservative.

As a liberal Italian, Cardinal Zuppi will likely get strong support (it’s been a long time since the last Italian pope).

This is simply the latest fool that aided protecting child rapists, good riddance.

Nothing but cosplay idiocy, infantile lunatics who exist in a fantasy world.

"The good die young"

When you're the head of a megacorporation based on made up beliefs that inflict massive suffering on others, I say good riddance.

Here's hoping the whole house of cards comes down someday.

I just hope they get another progressive. There are some absolute stone-age conservative Cardinals out there and it in this political environment, the world needs more pragmatic and compassionate leaders.

I read somewhere this morning that Francis appointed most of the voting cardinals so there is a good chance they vote for someone similar to him. A good chunk of them are non-European.

The voting is restricted to cardinals under the age of 80.
