I know I'm a little late to the party, but to me, this is one of the best scenes in any movie...ever. Val's smile and then recognition of the threat as he approaches the car absolutely kills me. It's so subtle, and it's perfect.
On a side note, Michael Mann is a goddamn genius, and whoever did the sound in this movie deserves a lifetime achievement award.

Ruth Buzzi has died at 88. For those not familiar, she was a really prolific comedian in the late 60s to probably the 80s. Best known for her time on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In

Joe Don Baker, the actor known for starring in "Walking Tall" and three James Bond movies, has died. He was 89.
He is best known for his starring role as Sheriff Buford Pusser in the hit 1973 crime thriller "Walking Tall." He also appeared as a character actor in three different James Bond movies, including 1987’s "The Living Daylights" starring Thomas Dalton, 1995’s "GoldenEye" and 1997’s "Tomorrow Never Dies" opposite Pierce Brosnan.
