Huska's golf shirt might be the best flames apparel I've seen. It's not on flamesport.com... Is that available to the public?

It's honestly such a tease by the org that over half the merch I see players wearing in post game interviews just aren't available on the team store.

I doubt any fan is actually rooting for losses. It's more of a belief of what we need to get to where we want to go.
Personally, I thought it was a fun season, and I was definitely hoping they'd make the playoffs toward the end.
That said, when it comes to building a long-term contender, I believe at this point in our life cycle it would of been beneficial, though tough to watch, for the team to bottom out.

I'm shocked that those who choose to be vocally miserable about following this team are also vocally miserable about interviews. Who'd have thunk it?

I mean we have a "fan" on here that stopped watching at Christmas apparently because he knew they couldn't play at a high enough pace to make the playoffs.
He is now taking a victory lap because they missed even though they were tied for 2nd in the West in the 2nd half. He is also going on about them not playing at a historically playoff level pace lol.
Yeah we don't need "fans" like that Ras is 100%

Disappointed that Ras didn’t call out Paulie specifically. We all know that’s who he was referring to.

Its pointless to confuse some individuals with facts. It doesnt align with their narrative and they will just end up doubling down with more made up stuff and claim victim status............
wait a minute
that strategy seems oddly familiar these days

I don't really agree with Rasmus's "real fans" comment. Real fans IMO support the team no matter what, whether tanking, competing, or stuck in the mushy middle. I actually have more of an issue with fans that say they would not watch or support the team if it tanks.
It's just a fact that the NHL rewards teams that tank. I've been beating the drum for years, but they should come up with a more equitable system for distributing draft picks because it is ridiculous that tanking and poorly managed teams can accumulate an embarrassment of riches while teams that try to compete every year but fall short can easily get stuck in that rut. Every non-playoff team should be given better odds of getting high draft picks.
Sorry, this is going pretty OT, but I just don't think it's an issue with the fans if they want a shot at potential franchise players that are almost always only available with high draft picks. Every fan should want that opportunity because those are the kinds of players that bring you success in the long term.

I 100% am for Rasmus calling out the non real fans. You should never hope your team loses. There’s also a big difference in being highly critical of your team (which we of course are) and just hoping for the worst. I always want us to be successful, and of course as a rebuilding team is makes sense to lose games to be successful in the future, but that’s already a gamble and not a guarantee. Just keep playing your best, draft well, and down the line we will have a good squad. If we draft like we did in 2024 this team will turn things around a lot quicker than we think. We already have our franchise goalie and likely franchise defenseman. That leaves us with a big focus on finding the franchise offensive players.

Disappointing for the Wranglers but probably a good sign that Conroy expects him to make the team next fall.

When Klapka is cleared he will join the Wranglers

I don’t mind Ras’ edge at all. Probably very pissed off the playoff are starting today with the Flames having every right to be in and what could have been a very decent shot at Round 1 success.

I know it's just exit interviews and you should take it all with a grain of salt, but man.. watching that Weegar interview, he really stands out to me as the next captain of this team. No doubt about it. Awesome guy.
And then you hear about him taking three hours out of his day to talk with Parekh about the NHL, what to expect, etc. I'm not usually one to gush over this stuff but I'm really blown away by the culture that's been built this year. The dark cloud days are long gone.

100% Weegar should be captain. Just something I've always really liked about him . I think he's the best leader in the room, in front of thr camera representing etc.
Yeah, he like anyone has the odd brain fart on the ice but he's a solid man

TBH I think the validity in Andersson's comment comes from stuff from around the 4 nations and the trade deadline.
Coming into the season it's fine to be team tank and to want a top 5 pick.
But once we were 50 games in and the Flames were in 7-9 spots in the conference for much of the season then it was past the time to be cheering for losses.
If I was a player I'd be pretty annoyed too if you're in 8/9 place and there are 15-20 games left and there is still a very vocal minority of the fan base that's cheering for you to fail so much that the team falls right out of the playoff race and into a top 10 pick.

That and the six leaders all referenced low expectations at the start of the season, and talk among fans and pundits about tanking after last year’s Flames sell off, as motivation. I think they really wanted to prove people wrong and to have that ‘I told you so’ moment of qualifying for the playoffs.
Regarding the 10%ers, Ras was right. He said the 10% of people that were cheering for the Flames to lose are not fans. If someone that fits the description is offended, then they need to learn how to be a better fan. It’s OK to say, ‘maybe a loss would be better.’ It’s not cool to actively cheer for them to lose.
If you find yourself on the same side as an Oiler fan, then you are ####ed.
