I couldn't say for sure because I skipped them too, but I doubt you did.

I'm talking about him leaving the stage during the "good nights" and then posting an Instagram story of his private jet captioned with "Get me to God's country".

Marcello needs to lower the intensity like 90%.

I'm really looking forward to Elton John and I'm surprised that he would even do the show with all his health problems and the struggles with blindness over the last half year. It will be awesome to see him perform again though.

Still 30 minutes left, but it's been an all-timer so far.

Update was amazing, so were Elton & Brandi

Bummer watching on Global app and they don't have the monologue (guessing because there was a musical element).

And they never have the music performances which blows this time in particular.

“'Cause These Men Ain't What?”: Ego Nwodim is Saturday Night Live's MVP

https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood...ight-lives-mvp

Quote:
Nwodim strutted back and forth in front of an enchanted Jost and Michael Che, purse swinging from her arm as she went after the halibut on the menu and the vegetarians in the room. Jost didn't know who this Miss Eggy persona was and she didn't have time to explain it to him. “As if I didn't give that man five children and ten years of my life,” she said apropos of nothing. ("You don't have kids!" Jost reminded.) “Now listen here, sex is a little different after fifty.” ("You're not fifty!" Jost protested.) Complaining about all the scrubs out there, she was like a Pied Piper leading the crowd to network censors. “'Cause these men ain't what?” she demanded of the audience. And they universally responded, “####!” The anchors collapsed on the desk as a happily taken aback Nwodim warned of fines sure to follow. “Lorne going to be mad at ch'all,” she said.
Quote:
Then unlikely couple Grant and Alyssa returned to comment on how to survive the spring relationship slump. Marcello Hernandez and Jane Wickline are perfect together. He bellows and throbs beneath his backwards hat and football jersey. She cowers into herself, heart simmering underneath her turtleneck. “If you ever come for my man, I'll break a bitch off like a Kit Kat bar,” she warned.

Ego killed it. I’m always happy when she gets to show her crazy talent.

Watching on Global that part wasn't bleeped, but silent. So it seemed like the crowd just left her completely hanging, which was also very funny and the reactions sorta fit (although I didn't really understand what she said until later).

my dad is 83. He's of course aware of Elton John (though don't recall him having strong opinions one way or another about his music) and had never heard of Brandi Carlile. I did tell him I was looking forward to the musical guests this week

He loves watching SNL on Saturdays and discussing it with his kids as its a reprieve for him for being a caregiver to my mom

He has not stopped talking (raving!) about their musical performance and has rewatched multiple times as best I can tell

Now that he knows Brandi, show him this one (or find the full Sudeikis episode because Ego was great in the PTA sketch too)

Every SNL performance she has done is on her YouTube channel, and she's so great live. Here's The Story from the Christmas 22 episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9nUHnqpHJM

Decades on air and they nail so many things but have ****ed up every musician mix since the beginning of time. It's utterly baffling. I get it: the studio audience is small and close to the stage and they don't want the performance blaring at them.

But....that's 60 audience members vs millions of people watching online. Just terrible decision making on their part. Make the mix work on TV/online and the in studio volume is what it is.

I thought the Lizzo performances last night were probably the best in terms of TV quality in a long time.
