You can hire the best candidates with the same characteristics AND you can alternatively hire the best candidates with diverse characteristics.
Echo chambers aren't exactly the best for business.

Every time I hear someone bitch and complain about being the best candidate but losing because of DEI, it all sounds like sour grapes to me. How do you know you were the best candidate? No bias there right? They could very well be a better candidate, but you will use their race or gender to discredit them because you think you were the best and there's no way you shouldn't be hired.
Are there incompetent hires who are a minority group or of the opposite sex? Of course, but I've also seen a lot of incompetent white dudes that shouldn't be at their jobs either. Incompetence is not unique to a certain race or gender.

Policies that make life better and more affordable for working class Canadians = feathers in your cap apparently.
I think we'd far better off as a country if we had more politicians who were willing to fall on their swords for the things they believe in, as opposed to the cadre of disingenuous opportunists, who believe in nothing beyond their own ambitions and will promise whatever they think will get them elected.

PP promising to deport anyone on temporary visas who engages in what he determines as "hate marches (aka pro-Palestine marches)."
I'm sure he'll use the same tactics to go after the Proud Boys, the Freedom Convoyer, and the Take Back our Children marchers, right? Right, guys?
https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/article-850082
This also coming at the same time he's promised to use the notwithstanding clause to extend prison sentences + his promises to go after universities for being "woke."
Totally not dabbling in Trumpism and fascism though.

I think now he's given up on the rational Canadians, and just doesn't want to bleed any to the PPC, lest he look like he failed on both sides.

The Beaverton demands same debate invitation as The Rebel, even though we’re not as big a joke
Quote:
We, the editors of The Beaverton, Canada’s trusted source of news, DEMAND to be admitted to the post-debate press pool following tonight’s English language debate! While we are aware that Ezra Levant’s lawsuit-mill-turned-YouTube channel is a far more absurd addition to the Post-Debate Press Pool than our own humble satire publication, we still believe that we deserve a seat at the table solely because we want it and it’s not fair.
Also, because we were not allowed at the French debate (because we had no idea about this whole Rebel thing) we demand TWICE as many seats as the Rebel, to accommodate all TEN of our entirely separate Beaverton news divisions: Beaverton East, Beaverton West, Beaverton Up, Beaverton Overly-Toronto-Centric, Beaverton Light with Lime, Beaverton 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold, Beaverton Sports (Jai alai only), Beaverton After Dark, Beaverton: The Rebel Edition (wait, what?), and The Beaverton Weekly Coupon Circular.

Anyone who votes for this mini-trump turd can go eff themselves. Move to Alabama like Michelle Rempel and live with your kind.

The make up was never particularly thick, but it's really peeling/bleeding off the pig of late.
Diet Trump. 30% less fascist, but with the same great authoritarian taste!
His supporters are also getting louder and more fringe-y in their takes.
If you want to prove you're not maple maga, this is a great time to show you're anything but in your posts, rants and suggestive rambling.
What I'm seeing is only a clearer picture of exactly the boogeyman we suspected we might be dealing with.
Understand that while Carney isn't (at least for me) a dream PM, he beats anything Trump-reminiscent every day of the week.
When you look at what's happened in the US, why even risk that slippery slope here?
Telling me how sinister Carney is only screams the old idiom of 'he who smelled it, dealt it'. Especially when you consider that's exactly the rhetoric Trump voters were clinging to during his campaign. Dems were equated with the deep state, end of democracy, tanking the economy, which actually ended up being everything that their own guy delivered (with bonus drawbacks).
If you want to get the sensible people on board, tell us what will differentiate PP's initiatives from Trump's. What boundaries will he draw and enforce from the extreme right views that he harbours within his voting base that he's willing to explicitly affirm in front of the cameras?
Tell me what positives/incentives exist for the working class and students under PP that Carney would not be able to compete with?
Railing against Carney's character and motives when you never draw PPs into question is highly dubious and does little to rally any one discerning to your cause.

I mean there are some posters who should be embarrassed for having this guy on their ballots before the Trump stuff and Trudeau stepping down with all of these policies. I was told explicitly that PP was just a populist, who would moderate eventually, and calling him a fascist or saying he had fascist tendencies was partisan and left-wing extremism.
Wonder if those same posters will come back and acknowledge that maybe there was reason to be concerned about him after all.

It’s annoying. I actually want to hear all sides without him interrupting only when PP talks.
NDP ideas has no basis in reality as far as I’m concerned and it’s hard to see how much a liberal lapdog he is
Carney is the most likeable Liberal I have ever seen and hard to see him not walking away with a majority

I'm actually kind of pissed Carney isn't going after PP more. But I guess that's why he going to win a majority gov't.
