Not sure what people's overall issue with Daredevil is. The intro was slightly Disneyfied and the initial part of the fight felt a little CGIi'd I think just cuz of the smoke (ie they either CGId the smoke over the fight, or had to re-track the fight thru the smoke). But I feel like it's basically the same show as it was and am enjoying it thoroughly.
What....4th or 5th time is the Charm? How many of these have they made now? And they've all been awful.
This one doesn't look like hot ass, more like lukewarm ass?
Do not like the casting. Pascal is a great actor but he just doesnt strike me as Mr. Fantastic. Whoever is doing the Thing's voice seemed like the best part of that.
Why gender-swap the Silver Surfer. Not like it matters much as it was a fairly androgynous character to begin with so whatever. Why even bring the Silver Surfer into this at all. Leave the Silver Surfer alone!
And talk about taking a giant swing for a reboot-movie....yeah, lets just start with the Silver Surfer and Galactus.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Definitely looks like the best version of them we've seen, which isn't saying much. F4 are just kind of boring.
Shalla-Bal is the female Silver Surfer and has been in the comics since '68, it's not a gender swap.

If this version came out 10 years ago or so I might be interested, but I just can't be bothered with comic book movies these days. I'd much rather see a sci-fi movie like Interstellar or The Arrival.
I've always been a FF fan. The other movies were total ass, except for getting to see Jessica Alba in spandex.
I am very excited for this one. The notes are all there... Seems much better than other adaptations. I am very eager to see how they are tying in Doom.
Pedro wasn't who I pictured as Reed either, but honestly the clips of him look pretty great so far, and I feel like he is capturing that light angst that Reed perpetually has.

There is a self-fulfilling joke in there somewhere but I'mma let it slide just this once.
And, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 2015 one done purely out of contractual obligation? I think I read that Sony had the rights but if they didn't do something with them within a certain time-frame they lapsed?
It was like...."Well ####! We've gotta make a FF4 movie! Who is available and on the lot right now so we can throw this thing together?"
- "Well...I dont think Miles Teller has made it back to his car yet..."
"Excellent! See to it that he doesn't! Get him in here!!"

Shallow Ball is the name of the female Silver Surfer? Oh the 60s...that must have been one hell of a time to be alive! When men were men and women hadn't risen up to overthrow society yet!!

The one piece of credit I'll give them is that from the 90s cartoons I thought Captain America was a flat boring character, and I think Chris Evans rendition became one of my favorite characters. So these stories have worked in the comics for decades, and there is a way to translate them. They just need to find it.

I don't disagree, I think it has more to do with just cultural familiarity. Some of the older properties are sort of tied into their style and mythos in a way that can restrict them and keep them uninteresting. Superman, Fantastic 4, Hulk, I think fall into this trap. Batman and Spider-man escape it because they are actually interesting characters.
The rest don't really have the same notoriety and are able to be played with in a way that allows them to be updated or altered without a bunch of people crying about 'that was a BOY character!!" like comics haven't always been changing and updating themselves, swapping character backgrounds and genders and "woke" from inception.

Fox not Sony, but otherwise, yes that's correct (also for the 1994 version). That's why Disney has total control of them (and the X-Men) now after buying Fox.
Sony controls the Spider-Man rights and it's the same thing with them. They made the Andrew Garfield films to make sure they kept the rights before making the deal to have Spider-Man join the MCU.

Sorry, yes! I remember that one as well. I was always find making movies just for rights-control kind of funny, but thats the world we live in.

I love the Fantastic Four and am a huge Silver Surfer fan. I am super stoked for this movie. Love the look, love the casting. Ben Grimm looks awesome. Shalla-Bal looks awesome. The Galactus shadow had me cheer when it happened. Can't wait.
