I like Pospisil but I would move him this offseason if they get a good offer.
Flames have the following forwards that I think will be on the team next year
Kadri
Huberdeau
Klapka
Backlund
Coronato
Coleman
Sharnagovich
Frost
Farabee
Lomberg
with the following players knocking on the door in the next 24 months
Honzek
Gridin
Suniev
possibly Kerins
possibly Morton
If you can get something for Pospisil that makes sense you can replace him either internally or through UFA. I think the difference from last season is they have added two more top 9 guys in Farabee and Frost that makes Pospisil even more expendable.

14-6-6 after the 4 nations when the schedule and teams ramping it up was gonna kill us.
There are some real positives to build on even if some cant or dont want to see it. Was a different team after Frost/Farabee...especially when Backlund and Bahl came back.

Honestly who cares...media outside the city doesnt have a clue about the Flames. Klapka can play, he proved it over the toughest stretch of the sesason. He has stsrted using his size and is already unstoppable at times.

Totally agree. Conroy is executing his plan, stock piling picks, building from within and not tanking. People can be upset with that if they want to be but that has always been his plan and over 24 months he has not deviated from it.

It's a bit premature probably, but wondering if there's a way we could offload Farabee for a pick sometime between now and next year. Not that we can't afford him, or don't need him, but there's likely more cost effective solutions out there, combined with kids pushing for a spot. Don't mind giving him another season to prove himself here either, but I'd keep that path to one season max. His play significantly tailed off, which was disappointing.

I would give him next year to re-establish himself. I think there is a player there. Wouldn't sell low on him.

Not a chance Pospisil is moved.
Pospisil provides this roster with a mix of size, speed, physicality, forechecking and versatility than really no other play can match.
He was 4th in the NHL in hits.
He was 7th in the NHL in drawn penalties.
He had a respectable 25 points despite shooting just 3.5%
He can play all three forward positions, and on any line as needed.
He's a very valuable piece who fits the age range this management team has and is targeting. This was just his 2nd NHL season. It would be silly to trade such an asset barring a massive and unrealistic return.

My take,
The style that this team had to play this year, is going to take a toll on them next year, they don't have the top line talent to compete, and that is only going to be addressed through the draft.
The vets are getting older, and they don't have established young impactful forwards that can replace them.
As happy as I am with wolf performance, not sure he will duplicate this season, next year.
Worried about teams that finished worst in the standing, see them leap frigging Calgary in a year or two, Anaheim, San Jose, maybe Chicago if they can get Bedard going and sign key free agents.
Team just seems to be dying a slow death to the bottom of the standing.
Trade Andersson, Coleman, team has enough vets.
Conroy has to get creative in trading up in the draft for a centre, even if he projects as a 2nd line center, this team desperately needs better centre depth, it's a huge void
The team is getting too many mushy middle forwards, on 5 -6 million dollar deals, time to thin out via trade and promote youngsters from the farm.
Zary and coronato should be bridged dealed, let the kids prove it more, the team has lots of cap space, no need to commit that much to team that can't make the playoffs, or is trending do own IMO
This team is not even close to a finished product, keep on drafting and as high as possible
Stay very far away from free agency, a 4-5 million dollar defenceman on a 3-4 year deal to replace Andersson, but that should be it
I would sign wolf to a 8 year deal, not sure what that number looks like 8 to 10 million?

Not saying it happens, but wouldn't it be slightly hilarious if Connie goes and signs Bennett to the 7 x 7 deal he likely gets, and he blossoms into our 1st line center....?

Please point out where i said or made reference to either of these things. I thought it was a bummer of a season, but it was YOU who made reference to people having fun, and I agreed and said they did. You are now making the implication that I think that was wrong of them? All I said was "for some reason" which does not carry any such implication.
Could it be, again, that you are reading an agenda into my posts that doesnt exist?

I think many people did do this. I only watched about 20% of games since Christmas for example. The season's result was pretty damn clear by then.

The season's result was determined on April 15, 2025.
That is a long way after Christmas.

Lindy instead of Rasmus. Didn't keep him until end of season but damn near tried.
2. FLA-NJD Conference final means our picks are in the bottom 1/4 of the 1st. We get Jack Nesbitt and Malcolm Spence
Vancouver pick was lower in the 1st than hoped.
3. The flames go hard after Bennett in the offseason, but end up a bridesmaid. Instead, we sign Ehlers to a 8 year contract.
Rumors that the flames showed some interest in both Duchene and Stamkos, ultimately unsuccessful. Signed Mantha (fortunately not 8 years).
4. Parekh starts on the bottom pairing. Sometimes sits for Hanley.
Coronato started in the bottom six and roster spot was uncertain.
5. The flames start strong and fall back by christmas. Spend the rest of the season talking about how we're close to the playoffs and deserve to fight for the guys. Trade the lower of our 1sts before the trade deadline for a journeyman LD.
This did happen, minus the LD trade (though I understand that may not have been for lack of trying)
6. Miss Playoffs.
This happened just yesterday.

The flames were relying on other teams losing out the schedule for roughly a week before this.
The flames had lost their chance to secure things about a month ago.
The flames were looking too variable to make or sustain any useful playoff effort by December.

Hopefully trade Anderrson, Kadri, Coleman and Backlund in the offseason.
Replace them with young players. Tank a bit and get pick 1. We finally get an elite player.
Would be a great next year.

Its also an incredibly dumb take...he knew the 10th place team would go on a 12 game winning streak at Chirstmas lol
Like seriously what an ass hat...Flames played more than well enough to make the playoffs they might be 13th overall with a win tomorrow. They got a bad beat in the end.

What on earth are you even talking about...this is nonsense. They needed the Wild to lose ONE game. They beat SJ, Vancouver, and Anaheim in all in overtime. They were 20 seconds and a missed EN attempt away. If you want to be taken seriously don't make stuff up.
