If you thought the hockey gods were on our side, you haven't been paying attention.

Maybe it's the punishment for winning the Cup in the Forum because they've been feeding us nothing but #### sandwiches since 1990.

Frankly though was indeed watching the OOT scoreboard the last couple of weeks it was with mixed feelings. I never expected this team to be anywhere near the playoffs. I had hope that Wolf and Zary and Pops would show some improvement. Wolf exceeded expectations and Zary and Pops had their ups and downs.

I was sorta long since moved on to next year.

This.

Flames have no one to blame but themselves. They've had opportunities in the past couple of weeks that they've blown that could've made tonight a lot different for them.

But Flames shouldn't have even been this close to making the playoffs. So can't be disappointed with how it went. Wolf is for real, the young players contributed well, and we got prospects that are showing promising. Good season.

The only ####ty thing is the final gift from Treliving (obligatory diss) if Flames draft pick is not in top 10.

Amen.

Like Jesus, how can these other teams score no look pinball goals in the final seconds to pry victory out of defeat and the Flames can't get the Canucks to hold a 2-0 lead in the third period?

F### off man. I've watched for how long now, and the ending never changes. Even law of averages has abandoned us.

I'd say only Buffalo has it worse.

I generally agree that you make your own luck but I struggle to come up with recent examples of how luck has gone their way.
A team ripping off an unreal streak.
3 non goals with the puck on the line/over the line
A lucky overtime against Vegas
I mean how exactly has luck been on their side?

If Columbus wins the last 6 games in a row, with everything they've gone through, then maybe the hockey gods do some things right after all.

Also since Montreal sucks.

If anyone honestly wants to talk about the “Dallas” model, it lines up now.

Oettinger - Wolf
Heiskinen - Parekh ( taken 3rd and redrafts now have him third)
Robertson - Coronato
Benn - Huberdeau
Pavelski - Kadri

Those building blocks are close, now continue building through the draft

Fill in the blanks and hope our draft picks plug in

Would be interesting to see some of the fortunate or last minute St L and Minnesota wins or points.

Without looking my guess is scoring with 22 seconds left is the latest they scored to tie a game this season.

Probably also got some goals that didn't get called back as the Flames.

The Blues really had to go on that fluke 12 game winning streak. Unbelievable.
Amazing how much the Flames get screwed in some way.

How many times the Hockey gods bent us over:

Flames are the 7th-best NHL team of all-time by win %. It hasn't been all that bad.

The 10th place place team winning 12 straight to barely pass the Flames is next level TBH

Still need a Hintz, a Johnston, and a Harley. And if we really want to take it to the next level, a Rantanen too. You could argue Weegar is our Harley, but Weegar is on the wrong side of 30.

No top-tier C. That has been a major deficiency of this team since... the dawn of time? It needs to be addressed but I don't know how. (Well, I do know how, but a lot of people don't want to hear it).

If the Gods want to make it up, they can let the 0.5% of winning the lottery happen and get us a sixth overall pick.

####, this season by roster design was suppose to help in acquiring that. Can't even tank right.
