If you think he's a #6 at best I don't know what to say.

Peak Flames would have been finishing 11th in the draft order, they’ve actually surprised me that they haven’t found the worst possible position in the standings

Playing without pressure seems helpful, and can partially explain why a Canadian team has not won since 1993.

The Blues are going to sweep the Jets. The President's Trophy curse is real.

Frankly, this group deserved better.
Had more heart than their competition, but less luck/bounces/calls all year.

I don’t know how you are determining who deserves playoff hockey
I don’t question the effort of anyone on this team
Doesn’t mean they are good enough. But they were in it until the end. And that’s not only because of wolf

Bahl, Pachal, Coronato really stepped up this season. So did Zary, but he fought against it hard the same way Pospisil did. Coleman and Andersson couldn't maintain their standards, but they are undoubtedly leaders in that room that would have been a good throughway to the coach. Speaking of, Huska got this team to drastically overperform.
So a few more than just Wolf.

I really wonder what some fans' expectations of this team was when looking at the roster. Looked like bottom 5 team to me. Bad defense, no offense up front, 2 big question marks in net. Then they proceed to work hard, never give up, play entertaining games for the most part all season long, find out they now have their #1 goalie, and had a chance of sneaking into the playoffs right up until the end of the season. What are people upset about? It's so weird.

Which, if tradition holds, means either the Habs or Jackets are going to the Final. In both 2010 and 2023, the team that went to the Final from the East finished below the Flames in the standings, while the Flames missed the playoffs.
Go Jackets! Do it for Johnny and Monny.

The whole team deserved it.
Didn’t have the horses but they sure as #### did far better than anyone expected, including a pretty admirable run through the end here that if not for another team’s absurd winning streak would have seen them in a spot.
Deserved to make it? Yeah. Everyone.

Weegar, Kadri, Huberdeau, Bahl, Hanley, Coronato, Zary.
Frankly a whole lot of Flames played above their projections IMO, including the maligned D corps as a whole. The players who underachieved are a smaller group. Sharangovich, Coleman, Backlund (though that was maybe expected and he was hurt a lot) Andersson (same as Backlund really).

21 minutes a game is too much for a guy who can only bump guys with his frame. Getting exposed regularly by Huska, should be a third pairing guy. Bahl-Andersson has been a disastrous pairing.
