Actually that would be great if you could do that!  I think its the service.  I cant even use the phone in my house, or barely even on my street for that matter, whereas with Bell I could talk in my house all the time and it would be clear as a bell.  Maybe its just weak reception in that area for Telus, I dont know.  
 
I think its weak in the entire city of St. Albert, where I live.  Because when Im in Edmonton, its four or even five out of five bars everywhere.  Then as soon as I hit St. Albert, its garbage.  Two bars tops, and its usually less.  Which is odd considering they have a Telus store right on St. Albert Trail.  I never had that problem with Bell, looks like my living circumstances and my cell phone provider are a bad combination.
