Don't discount the immense pressure on both teams to win to clinch and their opponents wanting to play spoiler.

Me too, however, on the plus side neither of those teams should be resting anyone.

I thought Utah was a realistic chance for us. But they will be playing in St. Louis, on the second night of a back to back, with nothing to play for. Not great.

If it makes you feel any better, they are playing their rookie goalie tonight so looks like Vejmelka is in tomorrow

I was worried about Vejmelka starting tonight and not tomorrow, so that is good news.

Both the Ducks and Hockey Club should treat this as a game 7 as both could eliminate their opponent with a win.
On the other hand doubt Vegas will play at 100% as division is wrapped.
Start of the 3rd period we will then see a Flames team either playing at 110% or 10% as the other 2 games will most likely be over.
Then on Thursday it will either be the most important game of the season or we get to see a few prospects get their NHL debut.

Interesting that the flames and Blue Jackets are both chasing playoff spots with only a small chance of making it. Both needing some divine intervention. It’d be quite the story if both teams pulled out a miracle after what happened in the Summer.

But on the other hand, if they are playing any other team that already clinched and are just going through the motion are even worse though?

Flames vs Blue Jackets in the Johnny Hockey cup finals.
Because if enough divine intervention exists to get them in, then it must be taken all the way.

So Utah is starting their backup tonight?
That's good news. I hope that the potential of putting the dagger in the Blues provides some motivation for them to go out strong.

Eichel hasn't played since April 6th and his status for tomorrow is "in doubt".
Can't imagine they'd suit him up for a meaningless game when he isn't at 100%, could be a big help for the boys in red.

It would be glorious if BOTH STL and MIN lose in reg Tuesday, Flames win vs VGK in any fashion.
Make that LA game Thursday the most exciting/nerve wracking game for the Flames in the Huska / Wolf era thus far.
I hate to get superstitious or believe in devine power (since I don't believe in god to begin with, lol). But remember why we have this game Thurs, wildfires in LA when the Flames came to town. The fact that this make up game can be this meaningful, you can't plan things like this.

Even if both teams lose the Flames will need one more point than either to pass them. But at least that would allow for a single point in LA to suffice.
Yeah. Kind of eerie. Flames in LA delayed to fire. A likely back to back loss to the best home team bumped to the end of the season. If they played it the Flames are likely eliminated right now. Instead there's a real chance to take the game and get in should they get any form of good fortune on Tuesday.

He better not have sat my entire fantasy week in the finals only to come back against the Flames. I'll have to trade him if that's the case.

That is precisely why this game on Apr 17 has to count for something.
Not sure what the point of sharing this is, but my DREAM scenario:
MIN loses to ANA
STL loses to UTA in any fashion
CGY beats VGK
CGY beats LA
MIN gets bumped to WC2 and its WPG vs MIN first round, CGY vs VGK first round.
If I was an online sports gambler I would 'parlay' the above scenario for a possible windfall. However, despite the never ending invitations to get into online sports gambling, I have managed to know to stay out of that rabbit hole.
