Their odds of that are almost as good as their odds of going 4-0 to begin with.

Go 4-0 and they probably get in, there is really nothing more to report

Until they lost that point, they didn't need to go 4-0. Even by your own calculations, they could only afford to miss out on one point, and they have now missed it. Running the table is hard, especially for a middle-of-the-pack team.

Goalies look awful on occasion, and Fleury certainly did.
But Fleury more than anyone can shake off a poor performance.
He's been there before and survived.
The big question is who will play tonight for both teams?

For the Flames, I kind of wanted Vladar. Wolf has made some clutch saves, but going back to OTL vs VGK and a couple other moments he's not there positionally. Rookie errors, not piing on him at all. It's possible the pressure is getting to be a bit much. A break could do him well.
Besides that, Vladar was playing pretty good before Wolf started going in every game.

Not realistic at this point.
If the next few games go the right way (say the blues lose two and the Flames win the next two) then it'll be worth adding back in.
|
It's close enough so put the Blues in. The Flames are within 3 points of both the Blues and Wild. The Oilers have just officially clinched.

The Athletic daily. Well well well! The Flames pummel the Wild team they are chasing and suddenly The Masters isn’t the only captivating sporting event this weekend for Calgarian sports fans.
- The Flames are at 17% (+9%) to make playoffs.
- The Flames' median finish is 93 points (+1), 3 points (-1) out of the playoffs assuming the Blues and Wild - median finishes of 95 points - hold the tie-breaker.
- The Flames are most likely to pick 16th overall (-).
- The Flames are projected to finish 11 points out of the top 10 (illustrative only as cannot finish top 10 at this point).

If i know the Flames like I know the flames the best thing to happen would be...
Both STL and MINN winning their games today... I think if one or either of them lost we might not see the effort we need to beat the Sharks tomorrow.
I think if the flames go into tuesday (meaning one of STL or MINN lose that day) facing elimination they can do what it takes to beat vegas. Then it all comes down to the final game against LA.

If both Stl and Min win today, then you're left relying on one of Anaheim and Utah to keep those teams from getting any points in their final game. Do you really want to put this in the hands of the Ducks or the Hockey Club? I sure don't.

It doesn't matter who has the season series; as that is the 5th tie breaker. Both the Wild and the Blues hold the first two tie breakers against the Flames. Technically the Flames could get more regulation wins than St. Louis; but the only way that would help is if:
Flames win all 3 of their remaining games in regulation.
Blues get 3 points in their remaining 2 games.

Flames have played great since the four nations...when other teams were gonna pick it up and the schedule was so hard it was gonna destroy the Flames supposedly.
Stupid Blues won 12 in a row or the Flames woud be coasting in.

We need the Kings to beat the Oilers on Monday so that they have enough of a buffer that the last game doesn’t matter to them.
And Vegas has nothing to play for right now either and should be resting their players.
The whole thing hinges on the Blues or Wild losing 1 out of 4 games in regulation. After that I really do think the Flames can go 3-0.

I feel like Vancouver is going to come out swinging tonight. They are going to do us a favour. Lots of changes coming this summer for the Canucks, probably some guys wanting to leave a positive impression (E. Petterson, Boeser, Demko, +others). Also the Wild/Mild have looked like dog poo for the last couple games.

1. Regulation wins
2. Regulation and overtime wins (ROW)
3. Total wins.
4. Most points earned in head-to-head competition: If teams had an uneven number of meetings, the first game played in the city that has the extra game is excluded.
5. Goal differential.
6. Total goals.

Pete has been out for a while, Lankinen has been better than Demko lately anyway he just put up a .969 vs. the Avs
Patt too
I notice MAF is no longer getting the start...somebody getting nervous? Scared to play Zeev Buium? Yesterday I was told the Flames were embarassing and every other team thows these players into big games.
