Yeah I was looking at the replay and his body language to sharangovich and the linesman was ‘please help’
Sharangovich embraced him briefly, but I imagine couldn’t understand what he was saying and callously skated away.
Good to see the linesman figured out something was wrong and aid him off ice. That was scary to see, him struggling to breathe on the bench. Also though heart, but glad to hear it might be puck to throat and there be a clear non serious reason.

This is everything the boys have worked for this year. All that's left to do is snuff the flame. Lights out Calgary.

Am I doing the math right .... win and were in?

If we win tonight, even in OT, we're in.
Quote:
Biggest game of the year right here. All the pieces are in play, gotta show up and play like you belong
Quote:
Yes. We clinch with any win tonight
Quote:
Calgary is a team with a couple of good defensemen, a good goalie, huberdeau and kadri, and after that just a bunch of folignos and trenins in their lineup. Which i like foligno a lot more than a lot of ppl but for the most part i think the game comes down to executing cleanly on zone exits and gus not having a rare bad game. If the teams get fairly similar chances the Wild should win bc they just have more talent.
Quote:
I suspect this one will be extra game managementy considering what’s on the line for Calgary. Lucky for us, our PK has been looking pretty solid lately.
I’m guessing 2:1 ratio in penalties for Calgary unless it’s early domination for them.
Quote:
By the way, Calgary plays SJ next, and then last two against Vegas and LA, both of which could be resting guys.
Pump up the Jam
Quote:
I am so stupidly pumped about tonight!
I am dripped out, draped up, and am beginning to fuel myself with alcohol. Lock it in Wild, literally!

Haven't been this excited for a Wild game in a while. Lets gooooo!

ALRIGHT, LETS ####IN DO THIS!

I’m absolutely vibrating. Missed the last game, so nice to see my beautiful boys back

The guy that punched Fluery this year plays for Calgary right?
Quote:
I think it was Anderson if I remember correctly yes

Of course Anderson skates extra close to Gus, sucker punched Flower and is just asking for it already

Andersen, Pospisil and Weeger are still on the #### list. I feel like I’m forgetting someone else

The Flames are playing heavy right now
Quote:
Have we had any level of sustained offense for even 20-30 seconds?
Quote:
They are playing faster and heavier then the Wild by a mile
Quote:
This defense corps of ours feels really tiny today.
Quote:
I'm gonna recommend the wild score a goal or two

I’m hoping the Flames are overskating and get tired. I don’t think they can keep this pace for 60 minutes

I mean, a very highly motivated Calgary team is making that hard

This is going to be a scrappy game holy

Flames are desperate.....us not so much. We should be, but aren't.

Calgary has the adrenaline advantage of playing for their season right now. We’re not in that desperation mode.

What an awful ####ing goal. Rossi shoving him into Gus probably had a hand in it going in

Biggest problem I have with it is Gus having Faber all alone right next to him and sending it straight to the forward in the corner for no reason. Unforced error

How come calgary doesn’t immediately give up an equalizer like we do lol

This is an elimination game to the Flames, there’s just a lot more motivation for them in a situation like this.

I could accept that if we looked like we gave a damn.

Game is only half over and it literally feels like it should be the last 5 minutes right now.

Everything on the line and this group of clowns ####s the bed. No business in the playoffs

IF the Wild score, it'll be a too little, too late garbage goal at the end of the game. The more likely result is a Dustin Wolf shutout.

Right now it just looks like the boys are flat and slow. No speed at all. I get it’s gonna be tight checking, but they need to find their legs

I apologize but I had to inject some levity to this abortion of a game. I'll never un-see this again but Faber's clone is Tears For Fears lead singer, Curt Smith. This revelation is the only thing keeping me partially sane tonight.

Wild: 43-29-7 93 pts in 79 games
Blues: 43-30-7 93 pts in 80 games
Flames: 37-27-14 88 pts in 78 games
If this game ends in a regulation win for the Flames, the standings would be:
Wild: 43-30-7 93 pts in 80 games (2 games left, max 4 pts)
Blues: 43-30-7 93 pts in 80 games (2 games left, max 4 pts)
Flames: 38-27-14 90 pts in 79 games (3 games left, max 6 pts)
My God...it's anyone's guess

Screw it, I trust our boys to seize a playoff spot on their own. Go Flames

The Wild play in Vancouver tomorrow. I can see them dropping both games. They look really bad. It is really a shame we did not get a point vs the Oilers, likely could have wrapped up a spot with a win tomorrow and thus rest players Tuesday.
Wild have the tiebreaker over us but we have it over the Flames.

Flame would hold a divisional playoff spot if they were in the Metropolitan division. Yet over here they are still 3 points put of a friggin wildcard spot.
As a life-long Flames fan, but someone whose favourite player was Marc Andre Fleury, I was so happy to see the standing ovation from the C of Red. I made the following post to Facebook linking the ovation video.
For context for those that don't know. I live and grew up in Sydney, NS. Our QMJHL team is the Cape Breton Eagles, who Fleury played junior for and his number is retired in the rafters of Centre 200.
* * * * * * * * * * * *
When looking at games to take my oldest to his first (and likely only) game in the Saddledome, this game was circled.
I never got to see Fleury play in the NHL live, but I couldn't count the games I've seen him play in junior, here at home and rinks across the Maritimes. Not to mention being in person to see him play for team Canada at the World Juniors and in the CHL Prospects game.
There may have been an adult beverage or two consumed together at Smooth Herman's or the Capri.
I'll never forget what he said to me after the CHL Prospect Game in Kingston, Ontario during a post-game autograph session: "What are you doing here?!??!"
Fleury's always been my guy, my favourite player, since he was 16 and I was 18.
The Flames have been my team since I was 7.
Alas, life got in the way and the trip out didn't happen. When we make the trek it'll be for longer than a day or two, if for nothing else so my son is actually awake for the game. The red eye flights plus an 11pm ADT start time wouldn't have worked.
That said, proud of the C of Red here. Surreal that it's for the kid I used to watch play at Centre 200.

I think if I could be anyone in the world for a day, I pick Lomberg on a day he scores a goal like that. There may be greater joy somewhere in the world, but I kinda doubt it.

That makes sense. If that's about a 60% chance of the flames, blues, or miinny winning any single game. I'd say above 50% as all three are desperate and many of the teams the are playing suck.
.6^3 x (1-.6^4) = 18.8%
That second term represents the odds of both the blues and minny winning all four games left amongst them. That would eliminate the flames and about an 87% chance of that not happening.
Obviously the odds on any single game aren't exactly 60%.
Yeah even if they end up missing the playoffs you can't really be mad with how they played.
At the time of the 4 nations they were in 9th place with a .545 points percentage and Canucks were on 8th with a .573.
In the 24 games since then they've went 12-6-6 in what was largely the toughest part of their season, and put up a .625 point percentage.
They did their part to make the playoffs down the stretch.
The only problem is the Blues went 18-4-2 in the same time period, and are still only 3 points up on the Flames.
And the Flames have had some real weird bad luck with goals being called back in games that could've made their record even better in that 24 game stretch.
