Unfortunately? No, he betrayed his oath and used his position to spread misinformation and propaganda for Dear Leader, in the service of authoritarianism, corruption, and class warfare. The gloves are off at this point, nobody who abets Trump and his cronies deserves sympathy any more than a Nazi surgeon.
The sooner people realize that we are at war not with the “other” political party, but with the billionaire owner class, the better.

Over the last few decades, despite the false controversy over vaccines, researchers have been learning a great deal about the genetic causes of ASD. There are many genes now associated with ASD, genes that code for brain-specific proteins. This does not rule out an environmental influence, but at its core ASD appears to be a multifactorial genetic disorder.
We now have multiple studies that convincingly demonstrate that ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that manifests mostly in late gestation. There are strong genetic correlates, but the environment of the womb appears to also play a role. However, this consensus of evidence is incompatible with the notion that childhood vaccines play any role in ASD.

Because the old folks who collect Social Security are definitely on twitter

The Social Security Administration will no longer be communicating with the media and the public through press releases and “dear colleague” letters, as it shifts its public communication exclusively to X, sources tell WIRED. The news comes amid major staffing cuts at the agency.
“We are no longer planning to issue press releases or those dear colleague letters to inform the media and public about programmatic and service changes,” said SSA regional commissioner Linda Kerr-Davis in a meeting with managers earlier this week. “Instead, the agency will be using X to communicate to the press and the public … so this will become our communication mechanism.”

Not to out myself, but this has also been known for literal decades. One of the papers used as source material may or may not have been co-authored by me. This was noted as NOT being caused by vaccines, but by a similarity in presentation time of autism symptoms and typical vaccine schedules. Not causally related.
Advanced materal age typically associates with more exposure to viral infections, lower telomeric DNA length, disruptions in gut microbiota, and lower socioeconomic status, which tend to be greater risk factors for ASD.

and of course also correlates with advanced paternal age which relates to risk of de novo genetic mutations. the amount of ridiculously smart people that have been working (and well funded) on the etiology of autism is really remarkable and thus hilarious to think a few hundred of RFK's dream team will crack this all by September

That’s disgusting. Most of the people I talked to with my Medicare job had no clue how to use the Medicare.gov website, a smartphone, or a computer, let alone X. Jesus.
There definitely seemed to be more issues like this with people also in Medicaid, as they are in a more disadvantaged demographic. But that’s exactly what MAGA wants. Damn I hate Musk/Trump Projrct 2025 all all the #######s who enable this.

You can't see X posts in chronological order without an X account which makes it useless for public communication. I hope they get sued for this.

But we are going to ignore the blatant conflict of interest, too? Okay. I am fine with that.

The guy 'mistakenly' disappeared to El Salvador, Supreme Court ruled they have to bring him back.
Asked about the court order to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador, Trump said this tonight, per White House pool:
“If the Supreme Court said bring somebody back I would do that. I respect the Supreme Court...I have great respect for the Supreme Court."
Reporter: And the lower court as well…?
Trump: “Oh no, no. I’m not talking about the lower court. I have great respect for the Supreme Court.”
Trump didn’t seem to be familiar with the details of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case or the Supreme Court’s decision.
“I’m not totally well-versed as to the specific case. If they said to bring him back, I would tell them to bring him back,” Trump continued.

What conflict of interest? Musk wasn't elected to anything, and isn't being payed, so you know, it doesn't exist. Magic, right?

They may as well no longer have rules or laws in that country. Just bow down to King Trump.

When Jonathan returned from the US to Australia for a quick trip to scatter his sister’s ashes, he packed only two changes of clothes, leaving enough space in his small bag to carry the empty ashes urn to his home in the US. The trip was so brief he didn’t even pack a laptop charger.
The Australian says he was detained and deported when returning from the memorial in March, despite holding a working visa still valid for more than a year. He has been living on the US east coast for the better part of a decade – where his American partner, apartment, work studio and clients remain.
Jonathan, who spoke on the condition his real name was not disclosed, says he is now couch surfing in Australia, separated from his “whole life”.

He says that over a series of short interviews amounting to about half an hour, the official told him his visa had been cancelled and that he was banned from entering the US for five years, including as a transit passenger. He was told he would be placed on a flight to Australia and was handed a document informing him that he was an “immigrant not in possession of a valid unexpired immigrant visa” as required by the Immigration and Nationality Act. He says he felt he had no choice but to sign the document, which Guardian Australia has seen.
