I've really started to have a disdain for opinion articles since people have started treating it like actual journalism, not, you know, an opinion. I ain't even going to link Jordan Petersons that he did in the globe and mail. But for those who say the "mainstream media" is all over Carney, here are the titles of the last bunch of Opinion pieces:
- First reading: Should conservatives believe their doomed polls?
- Ryan Alford: Poilievre has been vindicated for refusing security clearance
- Mark Johnson: TDSB goes out of its way to cancel Canadian History
- Jordan Petey: Are older liberal-voting Canadians selfish - or blind?
- Chris Selley: Meet Danielle Smith, Patriot
- Randall Denley: Tax cuts are better tariff defence plan for Ontario than handouts
-Jamie Sarkonak: Tariffs are to Trump what DEI is to the left
- First Reading: Liberal promises just keep happening to intersect with Carney's business interests
-Terry Glavin: Carney may not know why China likes him, but it's plain for all to see
- Terry Newman: Pierre Poilevre is ready to be prime minister
- Amy Hamm: Smith is right, progressive men can't handle conservative women
Very pro-carney, bunch of bootlickers these people are

Unequivocally. And if people want to blame the Liberals for that, I'll allow it. Someone must be held accountable for snowstorms in June.

That’s more of an Alberta thing. Gotta blame the UCP for that one.

This is precisely why Pierre wants to get rid of the CBC, he knows they can't be bought like these North Korea Post articles pumping out propaganda.

I haven't looked into it, but this sounds like Elon Musk style outrage. Upset about the normal functioning of government because the person you cribbed it from doesn't understand how things work. Unless you found this all on your own.

What? The government isn’t allowed to function during an election? And it’s a secret but somehow some trolling rando on Calgary Puck knows all about it? Stop the presses.

Correct me if im wrong here, but isnt this because parliament isnt in session, the gov fiscal year starts April 1 and these services need the money from April 1 - May 15th? It's also treated more as an advance on the budget, not extra spending no?
Also, "on their programs"? Come on man the only increase non-budgeted was Northern Affairs and Trade, both kinda make sense to me anyways.
I'm curious where you dug this bad boy up if media hasn't covered it.

Common sense, or a devious plot to keep himself employed? Just asking questions.

"Mark Carney: You Can’t Lead a Country You’re Not Honest With.
Another day, another headline — this time, Carney claims he’s “never heard of” a pro-Beijing group, even though they posted a photo of him at a meeting with their leadership.
But this isn’t an isolated slip — it’s a pattern:
1. Brookfield Moves to New York — and He Downplays It.
As Vice Chair of Brookfield Asset Management, Carney was part of the leadership when the company quietly moved its headquarters from Toronto to New York. He’s barely acknowledged the move — and hasn’t answered why one of Canada’s largest companies left under his watch.
2. No Financial Disclosure.
Unlike every Member of Parliament, Carney has never disclosed his financial holdings, assets, or foreign income. For someone seeking to be Prime Minister, that’s unacceptable. What does he own? Where are his investments? Who stands to benefit?
3. Foreign Interference Denials, but Still No Registry.
He now denies knowing a group with pro-Beijing ties — but this comes as the Liberal government continues to refuse to implement a foreign agent registry. Canada remains one of the only Western democracies without one. Why are they afraid of transparency?
Canadians aren’t fooled.
Before asking to lead 40 million people, maybe Carney should have run as an MP, where his record — business, financial, and foreign — could be properly scrutinized.
No more secrets. No more dodging. No more insider privilege.
If you want to lead this country, start by being honest."

I ain't touchin that last one. I was also reading something by Michael Lewis and this quote stuck out. It was referring to Trump and willful ignorance but think its applicable in great white north too:
Quote:
There is an upside to ignorance, and a downside to knowledge. Knowledge makes life messier. It makes it a bit more difficult for a person who wishes to shrink the world into a worldview

It was floating around in the mentions of Conservatives on social media earlier this week/late last... the responses there (even in some of their more friendly spaces) was basically the same there that it was here. Namely "The Government functions while parliament is dissolved you dummy and it needs money to function."
