Hopefully one or both are resting key players.

Not only would I be playing Parekh next game but let's get Suniev in there too, why not?

They were picked 30th or 31st in one of the magazines

Flames are 20-40 points better than most predicted

I'm just hoping it still matters by then.

St Louis has two games left: in Seattle and home to Utah with two days off between games

Minnesota has three games left: Back-to-back Friday and Saturday in Calgary and Vancouver, and home to Anaheim on Tuesday

Pardon me while I put on a Dire Straits record.

Well I think the big thing is in order to get to 96 Wild would go 1-1-1 and Blues 1-0-1. And Flames still had to go 4-0-0 to get to 97.

So I think the biggest thing is it means Blues/Wild need to lose in regulation instead of Flames being able to afford an OT loss.

So it makes a slight difference but really I don't think it's the difference between them having a shot and the season being declared over.

It was unlikely before tonight that the Flames would go 5-0-0, and it's still unlikely now that they will go 4-0-1. But there is still a chance.

They are still fighting for a playoff

If you knew how math works, you wouldn't have posted such a dumb thing.

That's a valuable point the Flames let get away. Because of it, Minny can just go 1-0-1 in their final 2 (even if they lose to us in regulation), and we can't catch them. No longer do they need 2 wins. Same thing with the Blues. 1-0-1 and we can't catch them.

My prediction is the season either ends on Friday or on game 82 in terms of playoff hopes.

If the Flames run the table and either of those teams lose a game in regulation the Flames are in by one point

This organization's greatest skill is misjudging its team and subsequently deploying poor asset management.

Conroy should have been brave and made some trades this year

Not getting my hopes up. The execution we saw from tonight’s lineup won’t beat Vegas or the Wild. Nothing to lose, we are already destined for a mediocre draft pick. Let’s play the kids, especially Parekh. Bean can sit and then be fired into the sun. How could the PP be worse? At least end the season with some excitement and hope.

And they clearly need the help.

Team looks battered, bruised, tired and unskilled.

Edit: Oh its the oilers troll.

Honestly I don't think I've ever seen a coach call a timeout in that scenario so not sure why Huska would have even expected to call one there
When the season is in the line and you need to make sure your team is ready to close the game out? clearly Janley and Wolf in particular needed resets.

I said it doesn't change much because it doesn't especially with the Blues losing...Flames need ONE of them to lose ONE game in regulation

Flames winning 4 in a row is the tough part...its was 4-0-1 for me earlier today...they just burned the 1

Yeah. He totally should have got rid of that bum Kuzmenko, and sold high on Pelletier. It's inexcusable that he didn't do that.

The Wild who gave up 7 to the Sharks despite not taking a penalty?
