This should be a doozy.
I'm going to pick Hurricanes in 6 or 7. They seem healthy for the most part, although Braillard didn't play last night and they added so many battle tested championship players this year that know what it takes to win and like 70% of their roster is made up of 19 and 20 year olds.
|
I want the Hitmen to advance mainly because I loathe the Hurricanes lol. That said, I hope it goes 7 games and that they beat the crap out of each other.

PA has forced a 7th and deciding game versus Edmonton as they win game 6 4-3 courtesy of a PP goal in the final minute of the 3rd period.

Theoretically a good result for the Tigers. Wear each other out in a 7 game grind hopefully

It's interesting that the bus ride from the Hat to PA is only 45 minutes longer than the bus ride from the Hat to Edmonton. From that perspective, it doesn't make that much of a difference who the Tigers take on in round 2.

The Hitmen played very good against the Canes this year. I believe they finished 6-2 against them in the regular season. I like their chances a lot more against the Canes than I do if they have to play Medicine Hat in the 3rd round.
Anyone else watching games on Victory+ ? I like it better than whl live.

Yeah, I've been watching a bunch of games on Victory+, I find the quality to be excellent and the price is just right for a cheapskate like me lol.

A few days late with this, but love the emotion here from Andrew Basha - Depending on how far the Tigers advance in the post-season, there's still a chance he could take the ice for Medicine Hat.

I wonder how many of those games vs lethbridge they actually had all hands on deck. They were missing guys like Marques and Gustafson most of the 2nd half and in the 1st half didn't have Yager, Unger or Port.
Anyways, should be a great series. Hopefully goes 7.

Tips score with 6 minutes left in the 2nd OT to win their series in 6 games.
Portland wins game 7 in PG to advance.
Just Edmonton/PA game 7 to be decided tomorrow night.

Barring a big third period comeback, the Tigers will be facing the Raiders in round 2.

Not bad I guess, picked 6 out 8 series winners, and the two I got wrong both went 7 games like I had guessed, just game 7 went to the team I picked to lose.

As a Tigers fan, I'm pleased that their Round 2 opponent is PA as there is/was plenty of bad blood between the Oil Kings and Tigers during the regular season. Of course, one questionable hit and things could ratchet up quickly between the Raiders and Tigers as well.

Gavin McKenna is one of the six nominees for the WHL player of the year - The other five are the following:
Oliver Tulk - Calgary Hitmen
Max Hildebrand - PA Raiders
Berkly Catton - Spokane Chiefs
Andrew Cristall - Spokane Chiefs
Kyle Chyzowski - Portland Winterhawks

My understanding is the Hitmen will have Hauser back tonight as they open round 2.
