Cars are too equal and Suzuka isn’t a great track for overtaking.

I was thinking the same as Crofty suggested. Send Oscar on to pressure Max.

Ant is right. McLaren today:
We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas.

Loved having Villeneuve providing color today.

Gutless from McLaren. Other strategies were a longshot, but silly to not have tried. Pitting Piastri first was dumb, but then not going alternate to Max for a tire delta was even dumber. At least hang out for a few more laps where a lucky SC gives you the win.
Interesting how much pace Oscar had staying close to Lando. I think he spent his battery a few times when he had the slightest chance and then had to drop back to recharge, but then he had no trouble coming right back.
JV was easier on the ears than I would have expected

He shut down Crofty a lot. But I have to give him props, his insight was solid. Every time he told Crofty “no, no” he always had solid reasoning or technical knowledge to back it up. Martin’s a little better at rolling with Crofty’s musings and drama making.

I thought JV was solid in the booth. I do find that that Crofty and Brundle can tend to be a bit of an echo chamber and this was anything but that.

I think I get McLarens lack of strategy today. P2 and p3 is still a good chunk of change in the Driver's and Constructors championship.
No need to risk strategy and just paint it by the numbers today. Eventually they're going to have to make some bolder strategies during the season.
Villeneuve pretty much mirrored my thinking all day on it.
I do agree though that they should have let max out and give Lando the green light for a hot lap in the clean air. I think the McLarens have a big edge in front of the pack race times and he could potentially have squeezed out the lead with a big lap and that one second better put stop they had.
But, in the big picture, having max win wasn't really too dangerous to the early drivers standings.
I think this is going to be a walk for McLaren to repeat the constructors title. Ferrari and Mercedes aren't really showing winning pace yet.
The Driver championship? It's going to be interesting.
The car parity is actually really good this year, haven't seen and race leader really walk away from the pack yet and they stay within 5 seconds of eachother generally so far.

I haven't watched an entire dry race without fast forwarding in 4 years. Bring back Jacques!
Also insane. Verstappen was 11 to 1 to win after FP3.

Well that was a boring AF race. Highlights were the grass fires and Doohan testing the DRS and tire barriers in practice. Gross.
Results from this weeks picks! Winner was Tim SJ with 3 slotted and 8 top 10 picks...Flamesrule and CecilT were second with 2&8.
Overall TimSJ slides into the top spot with a 3pt lead over KelV and 4pts over CecilT. Top 7 are covered by just 8pts.
Fuzz this was your 2nd miss.

Doohan was testing the DRS and tire barriers not Hadjar.
