Let's see, you've alienated all your international customers, you've made your products more expensive globally by forcing countries to implement reciprocal tariffs, and domestically you have fired #### loads of people who add value throguh science to private industry. Those scientists are leaving, meaning they'll bring their knowledge and talents to other countries, who will now compete in areas you used to be masters at.

And the fired people who aren't moving? Well they aren't buying stuff, because they don't have jobs. Recessions don't typically lead to hiring sprees. And as their food costs increases due to deporting all the labour used to produce it, and animals for food become less viable because you decimated disease monitoring and pollution control, these citizens will become ever more desperate. Crime will skyrocket, and any remaining small businesses will close because they can't afford the damage and theft. Large retail will close and abandon any neighbourhoods where costs do not justify staying, hollowing out entire suburbs.

He can pretend an alternate path exists here, but reality and history are going to confirm all of this. Not that he cares, he'll be so deep in dementia land by then he'll think he's living in Disneyland.

DOGE making cuts to Homeland Security and the Secret Service. Hopefully that makes it easier for someone to snipe the orange goblin.

Is he playing even more golf now that he's president or something? Seems like he has a lot of free time.

Apparently, Ford is giving employee pricing right now, and this is a big win for Trump and the Americans see the tariffs are working.

The cult is wild.

If so, theres only about 21,000 businesses in the US that qualify. Out of 33,000,000 or so businesses.

I wonder how the Repubs can walk back destroying the economy. That feels like a tough one.

I'm reading some people on X (big mistake, I know) that think there's about to be an increase in Iran conflict, and that makes the strange timing of the OPEC production increase make more sense.

Who knows if true but that should throw a fun new wrench into things. Great distraction though!.

Trump needs the distraction, They moved six B-2 stealth bombers to Diego Garcia this week, they might use a couple them against the Houthis in Yemen but six seems like overkill for just a show of strength especially if the reports are true that they came with the 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs.

THey're telling it's short-term pain for long-term gain, and anyway it's worth losing your pension because it's owning the left.

And most of MAGA is buying it.

DOJ suspends a lawyer who criticized Trump's deportations:

Quote:
The Department of Justice on Saturday placed on leave one of its top immigration lawyers one day after he questioned in court the Trump administration's handling of the deportation of a Maryland man to El Salvador that was carried out in error.
Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed in a statement the suspension of Erez Reuveni, who represented the government Friday when a federal judge ruled the Trump administration acted illegally by mistakenly deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
“At my direction, every Department of Justice attorney is required to zealously advocate on behalf of the United States. Any attorney who fails to abide by this direction will face consequences," Bondi said.

Everyone really should be terrified.

That's wild, someone should file a complaint with the AG so that the rule of law remains supreme.
