Neeson is an excellent choice for that deadpan, stoic presence Nielsen had.

That Superman preview does not look good. Hope I'm wrong.

If it were almost anyone else besides Gunn, I would think that looks terrible.

Dan Gregor and Doug Mand have good chemistry and comedy instincts too. I'm all over the place on this one though. It could be great, it could be a spectacular disappointment. I'll probably watch to find out, so mission accomplished in that sense.

Neeson is also great at deadpan in The Lego Movie. Liam and Will Arnett as Batman are saviours of that movie.

This looks so dumb it might be fun, I'm not into scary movies so not sure how good the first one was but this looks like a totally different kind of movie.

Meh...from what I've seen so far, they've kind of nailed that Superman vibe. Especially the Superman of the late 80s/early 90s.

Gunn is usually reliable but that trailer did nothing for me.

Furthermore, and, this is just, like, my opinion man...but Trailers should clock in at around about 2 minutes or so. At nearly 5 minutes? It comes off as a little bit desperate. As does including Krypto.

"Please like my movie!!! Pretty please!! I even brought the dog in!! Guys...we really, really gotta sell the audience on this movie! We cant keep trotting out Superman in these massive flops!"

I hope it doesn't suck. I truly do.

Superman is a lame character for a veritable cornucopia of reasons stemming from plot armour to unkillable to overpowered to always victorious to just overall lame.

Lex Luthor and Batman are right. He is effectively a God. All humanity has is his good nature, Kansas upbringing and Pa Kent to slap him on the noggin like Cesar Milan! Realistically, if he ever got sick of humanity's bull#### and changed his mind theres little to nothing we could do about it.

Now...that kind of story could be interesting. And they tried it. And they screwed it up fantastically, which is impressive in it's own way, but not a good way.

But some people seem to like him. Clearly. I liked those old Superman movies...Superman getting loaded in Calgary? Wonderful stuff!

But that was a different time and movie-goers wanted something different than what they want now.

The dog is a little unfair.

Showing the dog scene alone probably puts more butts in seats than not including it (which would have made a great surprise for people that did go!).

DC was too dark before (comically so) and unfunny. They've gone in the opposite direction here and it's hard to gauge but it looks to be on a similar level as GOTG for lightness.

I'm not sure what Superman fans are looking for tonally. I'm not one of them.

I thought it looked fine. I kinda like the old school effects for the robots.

James Gunn has earned the benefit of the doubt, anyway.

Could be fun. I'd rather see it in theatres (I also reserve the right to be glad I didn't see it in theatres!)

Are they trying to make John Krasinski into Brendan Frasier now?

Dramatic actors doing comedy; comedic actors doing drama. What is this world?

That cast + Guy Ritchie? I'll admit that I'm intrigued. Lets see where this goes.

Though isn't it ironic how a FOY movie stars two actors that seem like they've been squatting on the fountain of youth for 20 years?
