Apparently, he made way more money licensing his name to the maker of the grill than he ever made boxing.
I dont know the specifics so I cant contest that statement, but it occurs to me that boxers, by and large, are complete idiots with their money while they're boxing.
Because there seems to be this attitude that one can box forever and another pay-day is just around the corner.
Whereas, post-career, they seem far more frugal and prudent.
The George Foreman Grill though? I'd believe it. Who doesnt have one? I have one and I couldn't care less about boxing and don't know jack about George Foreman. Its a brilliant device.

I had one. It was a decent product. It eventually conked out on me, but I got a lot of mileage out of it. I bought a similar product but different brand, and it didn't work as well or last as long.
Anyway, RIP George. He was a one of the best boxers of all time and seemed like he developed into a very positive person and great character.

People forget/dont know that George Foreman was one of the scariest humans to walk the planet in his prime.
I was just watching some old boxing videos of the various legends on YouTube the other week. It was a wild time back in the days of Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield, Ali, Leonard.
Love hearing Howard Cosells voice. Takes me back to the heyday of boxing when all the great boxing matches were on regular T.V. on a weekend. He was such a great announcer. It was more like a mainstream sport and not just a pay per view event with a niche audience like it is now.
There were so many good boxers in the 70's/80's. Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman. Some with great names... Sugar Ray Leanord, Thomas the Hit Man Hearns, Ray Boom Boom Mancini, Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Frazier was Smokin Joe Frazier.
Wilfred Benitez. Aaron Pryor. Roberto Duran. Alexis Arguello. Hector Camacho. Julio Cesar Chavez.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
