Maybe they sublet a bunch to Amazon? Like the entire NHL Centre Ice/ NHL Live OOM package? That'd be nice.

I know I'm in the minority, however I am happy about this. As somebody who still subscribes to "cable" TV this makes my life easy. Gives me the best of both worlds between being able to stream if I'm out, or watch while at home. Makes it easy to flip between games and other things on TV. I can run my PVR easily to record something that just happened in the game.

And best of all when I'm out at the game and my wife texts me, I can just tell her the channel number.

How does this dollar figure compare to the broadcasting deals in the US?

No, I mean...

The good thing is it won't require another subscription to watch all Flames games.

This is good news. I know there are disappointed viewers because of the quality. The quantity has been excellent.

Well you can always look forward to Monday nights on Amazon Prime; they're doing a damn good job with those games IMO

What is with these gigantically long deals? I know the NHL wants certainty but man, grow some cohones and throw some faith in the growth of your business over time!

12 years?

You're predicting that your salary cap is going to rise significantly in the coming few years, but you're not willing to bet on yourself in regards to revenue growth?

$600 mil USD for ESPN vs $640 mil USD for Rogers. Close to the same.

Amazon Prime should be doing doubleheaders! The game times are for eastern viewers.

I thought Rogers was losing money on the existing deal. Now they re-sign for twice the amount?

And its hilariously ironic to me that the poster-child for their announcement is Auston Mathews.

Literally an NHL player who does nothing but Bet on himself. He may end up as one of the highest earning players ever.

Hopefully this is a precursor to the news that Amazon is buying Rogers.

Is it going to be exclusively Rogers with national games still? If so that's ass. Would like Bell/TSN to at least have some national games and playoff games.

With Amazon in the mix, figure they'll get something with the new Canadian deal too.
