I’m going to take a ton of flack for saying this, but Bedard might not even be top-5 on my wish list for U-21 centers. He’s way too soft to be as small as he is, and there’s other players that can affect the game in ways he can’t.

Only two for me I think:
W. Johnston
Celebrini
I think the offensive upside is still to high to not take him over all other U-21 centers. Hes still an offensive U-21 leader and has the worst support cast.
I do think he ends up as a winger though.

I think Bedard is great, but I'm not even sure if he should really be a center. Nothing about him scream "center" except for the general vision and passing

Parekh and Luke Misa for bedard? Chicago then takes mike Misa...
Probably one of the only scenarios I'd be ok giving up parekh tbh. Still seems very very unlikely.

Chicago would laugh at this proposal.

Yup, he doesn’t play with enough jam to be a center at his size.

I would not trade Parekh straight up for Bedard so Chicago can laugh all they like.

Totally agree. If we are spending assets then get into the top ten of this draft you have a solid chance that one of frondell, obrien, mqueen, or desnoyer will he in that 7 to 11 range. All of them project to top line centers and would cost a hell of a lot less.
Or trade Anderson and use the assets to get close to ten in this draft.

You're nuts lol. Bedard was supposed to be a generational talent.

If the difference is parehk and a first no thanks. And projections are just that projections. And quite frankly i dont see mqueen or frondell as huge dowgrades as they bring more to the game than just skill.
Bedard is skilled for sure but proving he doesnt handle losing well, is soft as butter and is one if the smallest centers in the league which means he has to outskill the competitors on a nightly basis. Same problem hagens has in this draft projecting as a center and one if the main reasons he is dropping out of the top five on a lot if lists.
Flash and dash is great if it helps you win games i havent seen that from bedard yet and am not convinced i will either .

McQueen has serious question marks and projects as a winger if he even makes it.

In the draft thread scouting report posted with tracked stats. Doesn’t track well up the middle but sounds like he has the shot to make it as winger.

Is he? So was Alexander Daigle. Parekh is doing things that also point to being a generational defenceman. So you would trade a future franchise D man who is younger, cost controlled for longer, for a player who is starting to look like a first line winger? That's called being idiotic. We can all be thankful you are just a crappy poster on a Flames message board instead of our GM.

Well just because Bedard hasn’t lit up the world at age 19 doesn’t mean McQueen would be a better get lol.
MacKinnon didn’t take off until his 5th season and his situation was similar until they got some better players.
People called Crosby soft and a whiner as well.

Bedard in his first 2 seasons is producing at 0.84 PPG with no help. He's still 19.
Parekh (I would've taken him 3rd OA in the draft you can see the receipts in the polls) has never played in the NHL and despite him doing amazing this year, looked way over his head at training camp and has never played a game against men.
So yeah. Chicago would laugh at that proposal. Could that change after Parekhs rookie year? Absolutely. But now.. laughable.
