Drais will end up as a top 20 , maybe top 15 in all time goals baring a career debilitating injury

There’s a reason he has 400 goals at age 29 . He can score

He went post and in far side. All he was given was half a post. That was an elite level shot the type no flames current players can even pull off.

I won't fault Wolf on that. Few players can make that shot. Draisatl is on of those very few.

Yes, but as we've discussed we have the goaltending so there will be no rebuild. Just an attempt to patch holes around the star goalie. Kind of like '05-11' but without Jarome Iginla.

Most NHL players can make that shot if given the opportunity for a clear shot coming down the wing, as it was was all placement. 3 inches either way and we are talking about a Flames win.

Good shot of course but Wolf has a lot less margin for error in positioning than most goalies given his size and he was clearly 6 inches or so too far to the near post. If Vladar was that same 6 inches as Wolf he probably gets a peice of it given his bigger frame.

Ultimately it was a game overshadowed by the medical emergency. I really hope whoever it was is okay. I suspect they follow the medical emergency handbook that the Saddledome uses - If the fan survives it will be announced to the world with accolades given to first responders and trainers in the arena and if nothing more is shared you will know the person passed away.

One thing I loved about Ken King is if there was any medical calls within the Dome during a game, he rushed from wherever he was to attend no matter how minor it was. I may have disagreed on hockey operations at times, but he was truly a kind human being who cared about everyone.

I forgot about the medical emergency. Hopefully they were alright.

A terrible situation but honestly one of the very best places to suffer a medical emergency with medical officials, doctors and an ambulance all on site
Hopefully they made it

I hope so too. Whoever was right beside it on the broadcast painted a pretty bleak picture (it sounds like it was a true collapse and die scenario) and I suspect it just won't be spoken about again by the Oilers or Sportsnet (they would LOVE to announce a survival). I would imagine someone died right during the game and they just powered through as a sport because money and viewers and standings etc. I guess we'll see.

Same type of medical emergency occurred at the Calgary Hitmen game last Sunday vs. Medicine Hat. The father of the MH goalie passed away in the stands during the game. Harrison Meneghem finished that game not knowing till post game, and on Friday he played their first playoff game vs. Swift Current and got a shutout. Condolences to the family.

I didn't see it, what happened?

I watched Christian Eriksen collapse on-field from a heart attack and I saw Fabrice Muamba have a heart attack on live TV, the Muamba one was interesting.

I think he was 23? Professional athlete. But anyways, at least in soccer they pan away from the medical emergency on the field but as I recall they panned to the crowd and there was this fan in the stands just bullying through the crowd screaming and when he got close enough to the field microphones you could hear him yelling:

"I'm a Cardiologist let me through!!"

He saved that guy's life.

So I hope the guy in the stands yesterday is okay.

Agh...that sucks. Even with all of that immediate medical help in the arena...it must have just been too serious.

Thats gotta be one of my nightmares, being sick or something in a huge crowd and something just goes down.

He died in the post-game thread or it was said in the post-game thread that he died?
