Umm D- isn't even a real grade.
Last year my brother drove the Stamps (one of three buses) up to Edmonton. I think he had the defence, he said the bus was trashed, garbage everywhere, someone actually poured pop on the seat. Not one thank-you, said he's never doing it again. They did complain to a lady in charge on one of the other buses but never heard anything back. F

“When you do have a rough year, you do want the players you pick to be in your camp,” head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson told the media late last week. “It’s early. We don’t know who’s going to get drafted in the NFL or get to UDFA.”

With the Stampeders coming off their first playoff-less season since 2004, it appears they’ll focus on drafting players ready to come to the CFL right away. To use the league’s informal vernacular, Calgary is looking for “now guys,” not “futures guys.”

It appears Dickenson plans to keep the first overall pick unless he’s offered something substantial in a trade. The Stampeders haven’t chosen first overall since 2014 when they acquired the top pick from the Ottawa Redblacks in exchange for Canadian offensive lineman Jon Gott, a trade that was executed the day of the draft.

Oh the other D- was the rating that was given by Kadeem Carey after the Grey Cup..

I can't believe after that entire overhaul, Dickenson is still here.

The Stamps have been awarded the 1st and 2nd round picks from the Lions as BC was over the salary cap by a whopping 350 grand. As a result, the draft order is as follows:

Round One

2. Hamilton
3. Ottawa
4. Saskatchewan
5. Montreal
6. Winnipeg
7. Toronto
8. Calgary*

Round Two

1. Hamilton
2. Edmonton
3. B.C.
4. Ottawa
5. Saskatchewan
6. Montreal
7. Winnipeg
8. Toronto
9. Calgary*
10. Winnipeg ^
11. BC ^

Dave said earlier this week that he's interested in players that can help the team now, not in a few years. Does that change with acquiring these additional picks? I think they need to shore up the offensive and defensive lines, it's great that they acquired VA, but he needs time to throw the ball. On the defensive side, Stamps need guys that can get after the opposing QB.

At any rate, I hope Dave and the scouting staff can hit on these additional picks, it's like found money.

so what does the trade look like now? Here is original deal:

The Lions acquire Calgary’s 2025 round two selection (9th overall), 2025 round four selection (29th overall) and their round two selection in the 2026 CFL Draft. As part of the deal, Calgary also receives a 2025 fourth selection (32nd overall) and round three selection in 2026.

so we get the 8th overall back + 17th Rd 2 + BC 4th and 2026 3rd and give up the 2025 4th rd and 2026 2nd.

Yeesh we robbed em LOL

It's part of the CFL by-laws. Any team that violates the salary cap to this extent forfeits draft picks to the team with the worst record in the league. The Stamps may have picked a pretty good time to have a terrible season lol.

Seems like a great hire as he has had a great CFL vantage point via broadcasting the league for decades. I hope the owners allow him to do his job.

He may also be able to help negotiate a larger TV deal as he knows the inside of TSN. If he could double the yearly TV rights from 50 to 100 million, that isn’t chump change anymore and puts some decent cash into every teams pocket.

Hopefully Bell remains fully committed to TSN. With the rumors of Bell looking to get out of the entertainment industry and not even competing with Rogers for the next NHL deal one has to wonder if the network may start penny pinching.

If the ratings continue to be strong for the CFL, I think TSN will stay committed to the product. Also, I hope they put even more games on CTV to expose the product to as many people as possible.

TSN has done a great job with the CFL.

We just need better play by play when they have more games to cover. I do not ever want to hear Lalji call a game again.

Before Shultz died, he was a regular on CFL but it seems like he slowly just stopped covering the CFL all together only did some NFL picks. Any reason why that happened?
