Sounds like the roster was finalized today,
"The Toronto Blue Jays have begun finalizing their opening-day roster.
Alan Roden, Will Wagner, outfielders Myles Straw, Nathan Lukes have all been informed they have made the opening day roster, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi and Arden Zwelling reported Sunday.
Infielder Addison Barger was sent to triple-A Buffalo. The 25-year-old hit .367/.429/.733 with three home runs, six RBI and a 1.162 OPS in 15 spring training games"
Straw and Roden are both NOT on the 40 man roster right now, and they have all 40 spots full so that means they need either two more names on the minimum-time IL or 2 DFA. Not sure who that would be.
I doubt they want to lock Varsho out for any length of time, so I think it'll be DFAs

They've let Yarnborough walk as a FA - he had the option to force them to add him to the team (26 man roster) or let him walk. They elected to let him become an FA. Seems like the wrong decision to me considering how he pitched last year and this spring.
Yeah. I'm skeptical they have 13 pitchers better than him.
It seems like they wanted him to start in the minors and got butt-hurt that he didnt want to. Considering how he's pitched I don't blame him - the guy has earned an MLB reliever spot.
I would think his agent has felt out interest among other teams prior to pulling that card, so I'm sure he'll land somewhere soon.

Yep. sounds like 3 players are not on the 40 man roster,
Jays home games will have the largest number of promo nights ever, 3/4 of the games will have some sort of theme or giveaway, from Barbie night to Minecraft night, multiple bobblehead and jersey nights.
And of course people stuffing their faces with 1$ hot dogs a Tuesday every few weeks.

The Jays already feature a staff that doesn't have much to offer in terms of guys who throw heat and can miss bats. So I get why they didn't want to keep Yarborough. I think they would rather search for a high velocity arm that needs a bit of refinement.

Straw and Barnes I don't see much upside in. Neither Barger honestly. Would rather have kept Yarborough.
i hope just placeholders for straw and barnes. it sucks losing yarborough. i think he signed late because they were clear where he stands.... and gave him an out.
barger... i was down on him after initial showing but looking at his history he consistently struggles after promotion to next level. then makes adjustment. in majors last year same holds true. he was good last call up. high a, triple a etc. really has some raw tools. power. strong arm. his profile is strong. in minors to start. still young enough.

A few more years of Nate Pearson not living up to his potential doesn't appeal to me compared to someone who has had actual major league success in the exact role.
