If the are in fact getting Backlund, Farabee and Weegar back they have to start burying teams. By burying I mean score 3 goals.

I feel like I say this every time I look at how the lineups stack up, but despite the records the Kraken have a better lineup.

Full marks to Huska and the coaching staff. The miles they're getting out of this group is coach of the year stuff.

Flames had two thirds of the Greatest All Time Hockey Moustache line. They just needed Bryan Trottier for a centre.

??

Their 1C Stephenson has 48 points as does the 1LW McCann. Kadri and Huberdeau are better. And on and on through the lineup.

The most I would say is their 2C scores more than Backlund or Zary (as the case may be). And they have maybe better bottom 3 defencemen.

Looks like Backlund won’t be back tonight.

I might rather see Hunt than Rooney or Klapka.

The Flames have been remarkably consistent this year. Their longest losing streak was 4 games, ( which they they had twice), no less, they've done well beating teams that are worse than them.

Dennis Maruk would have brought a better moustache, although no slouch he'd be no Trottier on the hockey side

alas their center Riser didn't muster a good moustache as a Flame that I recall he periodically sported one as a Hab (just don't refer to his 75-76 rookie card which is of a moustachioed Bob Gainey)

the 86 Flames had pretty good moustache game really- Macoun, Sheehy, T. Johnson, Reggie, Mike Eaves

I'm not talking like a staggering edge to the Kraken, but overall, I like their forward group and overall roster more. Slight edge now, more pronounced edge into the future.

I think Kadri and Huberdeau are probably the top forwards on either team, but it's close.

Give me their C group of Wright/Beniers/Stephenson/Schwartz over ours. I don't like the Stephenson contract, but I'd take him over every center not named Kadri on our team. The blueline, I like Weegar the most on either team but the rest it's Kraken for me.

My opinion at least. I think it reiterates the strong coaching job from Huska and is another notch in the Calder case for Wolf.

Sorry, train's full now! Next year, consider damning a rebuild and high picks before game 70 of 82!

But you have to compare top C v top C etc. You can't say Stephenson's better than anyone who's not Kadri when his comparable is Kadri. Is Beniers better than Backlund? I don't think so, not all over the ice. And Schwartz plays RW. Their normal Cs are Stephenson, Wright, Beniers, and McCann.
