Of course. Klein was a popular premier and got pied at his Stampede breakfast. When I heard Ed was in town for his, that was the first thing I thought of. Glad they caught the crazy bitch, though.

He knows it is the home of the "Alberta Stampede".
Somehow I think that remark is going to annoy everyone. Calgary will be annoyed a the lack of acknowledgement that it is a historic Calgary event. The rest of the province (especially Edmonton) will be annoyed at seeing their own events as subservient to the Stampede.
Forget the pie, somebody needs to hit Ed with a Clue Bat.

There's gotta be better ways to draw attention to issues than pieing someone. Never a fan of this.

I think it's funny how in other countries people try to kill their leaders and politicians, where as here in nice guy Canada we pie them or throw chocolate milk on them. And if someone does get close enough to a politician they get choke slammed by them.

They say any publicity is good publicity. That sect of people, hemp-wearing/smoking, non-bathing, armchair environmentalists only want their message to be heard. Well she managed to get quoted by the local paper for multiple quotes. In the circles in which she walks, she was probably made into a hero this morning.

Seniors Minister Greg Melchin, who was in the serving line next to Stelmach and saw the whole incident unfold, said the protester held the pie up in the air and said "I've got a pie for you premier. It's just a pie," Melchin recalled.
The young woman who carried the pie, lashed out at security as they arrested her, complaining about global warming and some other inane crap that no one cares about. "Why am I being arrested for trying to hold the premier accountable to the citizens of Alberta?" she screamed. "Pretty cozy for the premier to be eating breakfast when people are homeless on the streets." The young woman carried on about hemp tampons and making bead necklaces.

Somebody is going to get shot some day or otherwise seriously injured attempting one of these assaults.
Very stupid.

I totally agree. Honestly, this is going to escalate through time. Clearly the penalities last time were not stiff enough to make people think twice about this type of thing.

If this was the President of the US almost getting pied, she would have been shot.

I agree. Pieing someone is not going help your cause. Nor is it going to garner any good publicity they are seeking.

Such a waste. I would have absorbed that pie myself if I were premier. In my mouth.

Why not apply to be a part of Stelmach's security detail
