I don't know which of the deplorable POS it was, but one of them was giving an interview saying that Trump and only Trump decides who stays in America.

I actually don't see what he said as that bad. Obviously saying "their feeling are hurt" is an understatement, but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't mean it in a patronizing way. Maybe that was intended, but some people just mentally default to understating things as a coping mechanism for stress.

I would say the likelihood of someone offing him is higher than you think. The difference is that Trump is now also pissing off his MAGA base. The same people that thought Trump would only screw over the libs are no having their safety net dismantled too. These people aren't the most stable to begin with so I fully believe one of his own is going to pull the trigger one day.
Oh sure, the cultists are probably not as happy as they were on November 6, but they are still cultists. One big display from Trump will get them all back in line. 0% chance they buck.

Trying to invade Canada by force would absolutely trigger World War III and would very likely cause a civil war in the U.S. And it would destroy both countries. As deplorable as the Trump administration is, I'm not convinced that they're dumb enough to get involved in anything that messy. They're looking for easy wins so that Trump and his billionaire buddies can keep getting richer.
Their goal appears to be to try and damage our economy to the point where things get so bad that we'll eventually relent and have no choice but to "negotiate" to join our economies. The only way forward for Canada right now is to diversity as quickly as we can, make new trade deals, and beef up our ties to the EU, UK, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and other allies around the world. If our economy collapses, we're done.

They're looking for easy wins so that Trump and his billionaire buddies can keep getting richer.
This is fundamentally all it comes down too as well; Trump ultimately just wants more money for himself and his rich friends, and if he can be a 'king' in the process while attaining this money, he doesn't care what kind of deals he signs with the devil along the way to make that happen. The GOP gave him the runway to do it too, which is desperate and gross.
And Trump's convinced regular, everyday Americans and conservatives that he's doing this all for them because he's like them - even though he's a billionaire/convicted felon/rapist/draft dodger/poor businessman/authoritarian who doesn't give a flying #### about any American outside his circle.
