Those obstacles saw Alberta’s oil production and export capacity increase to their highest levels ever, so if Trudeau’s results are bad, what does “worse” look like?

He is notably conflicted as a Prime Minister by saying his main effort to stimulate our economy will involve the furthering of green energy development and the building of houses. These are the same areas of responsibility he held as CEO of Brookfield Asset Management. I believe it's been said that he has held a significant share interest in this company. It’s a shame we will not get to see what’s in his Blind Trust until after the election.

That’s the point I can’t get over. We’ve never produced so much Canadian oil and somehow we still have to hear about how much the federal government hates that industry and wants to shut it down. Gimme a break.

Part of it is that the oil business in Alberta is a construction business and those mega-projects have dried up since 2014. How much of that is market vs regulation is open for debate.
