How did the company perform a transfer of ownership into your name without your consent, signature, etc.?
Demand from Telus a copy of all the contracts that indicate you are contractually obligated to fulfill the terms of the agreement. Assuming they can’t or won’t provide it, you’ll need to contact the credit bureaus and file a dispute and use your correspondence as evidence that you have never signed a contract.
Also, your score in your bank account is through TransUnion. The other bureau in Canada is Equifax, which you can get for free by signing up for Borrowell. Borrowell makes money by using your credit details to offer you deals and pre-approvals on loans and credit cards in their app (none of which you ever have to take them up on), and you can also use their rent reporting service to self-report your rent payments to increase your credit score while you’re fighting Telus.

Ya. The 40 Telus people over the months I talked too said they don’t care and it went to one of those garbage collections agencies. Those guys really don’t give a f. I’ll phone transunion Monday.
Severance had none of that. I think 98% of the 200 people laid off it was their primary phone and got it switched to wherever. I said it’s not my problem and hucked it in a drawer. How did my employer for 1 day that severed me have my credit info to transfer an account for something?

Cool, so my lifetime boycott of Telus shall remain in place. Thanks for verifying they continue to suck as much ass as they did in 2001.

Ah, you know what, that's a good point. Part of that 'falling off' stuff is you have to make sure you do not acknowledge the debt in any way whatsoever. It might honestly be in your best interests to continue ignoring it, don't even talk to the credit bureau.

I've been boycotting them since ~2000 when they changed their payment date so that the date of my automatic payments (which they had selected in the first place) was now 3 days after their payment due date, and started charging me a late payment fee every month.
Reinforced when they dug up my yard to put fibre optic in for the neighbourhood, took out a bunch of my landscaping without replacing, filled the trench (>1 m wide) with gravel and maybe 1 mm of soil at the top so I have a line of brown grass across my front yard most of the summer, and ignored any requests to fix it.

The problem with boycotting Telus is that the alternatives are equally terrible. Same crap, different pile.

Nah, I've dealt with Shaw and Telus at work and home, and Telus is easily far worse. The number of WTF moments I've had dealing with Telus make me wonder how they still exist. Shaw at least made an effort, and didn't have things like entire departments without phone lines. Hell, Telus just called mee a couple days ago to sell me something, and the phone line kept cutting out. Hardly a good showing for a communications company. She said "our downstream provider has been having issues." Uh uh. Whatever it is, it's a sign y'all don't have your #### together.
Is Rogers as bad as Telus? Not so far, will see.

Holy crap, I had nearly the same thing happen to me - in 1993. I started getting my bill in the mail after the due date. Had to contact them to get it moved. Lady I was talking to was astonished.

Had the pleasure of shopping today, at Ikea, Costco and Cabela's. What in the holy F are people doing these days. It was like 28 Days Later, everyone was just stumbling slowly like zombies, zig zagging across aisles being completely unpredictable. I just needed to get in and get out, knew what I wanted, but every turn I took was just aisle after aisle blocked with people and their carts. Damn 15 min visit turned into an hour. It's as if people just don't give a rats ass anymore how their actions impact others. Suuurrre, just leave the cart perpendicular across the aisle while you go walk off looking for stuff, I'll just ram your cart out of the way.

I am definitely at fault here for cutting somebody off when trying to move over into an exit lane, but I think the contributing factor is the dude in a tiny car straddling the right shoulder of the lane so you basically think there is a gap between the two adjacent cars when you approach.
Why do people drive like this? I would never drive in such a way that would obscure visibility from cars in other lanes. Position yourself in the lane so you can be seen if your car is barely wider than a motorbike.

Shaw was at least better than Telus ever was, for me anyway. I say Shaw because I was not a customer post-Rogers takeover, as I very quickly switched over to TekSavvy and haven't looked back since.
As for TV, someone posted a very awesome solution in the Cutting the Cord thread and I've had that for Live TV (which TBH I hardly use) and my PlexShare to replace Netflix et al.

Are your side mirrors set correctly? This sounds like an easily fixable problem, I've never encountered this before.

I switched back and forth but it seemed while Shaw could be inept and disorganized they were never evil and greasy like Telus. dumfata over evilfata every time.
