I think the Obama era is over. Especially after Biden and Harris.
It's time for new progressive voices. The Democrats have to take some risks, not be the nicer corporate party. They need to swing young voters back.

U.S. shuts down Canadian access to library that straddles the border. Bloody childish brats.
I guess they want us to be as stupid as the 54% of Americans who read at a grade 6 level or less.

It feels like we are getting the United States that would have governed if the south had won the civil war.
We are seeing the rapid destruction of a nation in real time.. This will be taught for hundreds of years.

It's so bizarre to me that some old coot pushing 80 can personally push the world backwards 100 years like this. Like I know we're supposed to respect seniors, but can we make an exception with this one, and just tell him to buzz off to the old folks home?
Dude is clearly stuck in the past and nostalgically misses the world from his youth, when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Trump blabbing on about the 51st state nonsense again this morning, and once again bitching about our dairy sector. He then pulled some random bulls*** number out of his ass and said that Canada has 400% tariffs on certain products, but of course he didn’t back that up with anything and just moved on to the next question.
Seriously, how do you possibly negotiate a new trade deal with this clown?? We know these tariffs are happening regardless. Obviously we’re just gonna have to live with that and move on to find other markets and trade deals. Continue to match them dollar for dollar if we can, but it’s time to wean ourselves off the U.S. for good and just move forward as best we can. F*** these arseholes.

Because it's not just him. He's captured the technocracy by giving them access do to whatever they want, and has the full support of the Christofacists, including a large portion of the Republican house and senate, because they can also do whatever they want. This isn't just a one man thing(and I think that's what has allowed this to progress, no concerted effort was made to fight anyone other than DT). He's just their useful idiot. And boy, is he both of those.

You don't negotiate anything with the U.S right now or the foreseeable future. Scale everything back, get the global export markets activated and operate with the new lines in the sand Russia/U.S.A are drawing.

It's not that easy.
Can't exactly just go to the European or Asian Customer Tree and pick off millions of dollars worth of new business. Takes time to develop new customers. Sometimes, a long time.

Canadians spent $20.5 billion on U.S. travel in 2024 (source: U.S. Travel Association). In total, foreign tourism contributed $2.3 trillion to the U.S. economy, supporting 9.5 million jobs. The stable genius has devastated the American travel industry.
I just helped convince a friend to cancel a U.S. vacation to Arizona. I consider that a win.

Oh I believe it's not easy but it also appears to be exactly what Carney is doing currently. Attempting to open up and widen current trade markets that are not the U.S.
I also believe that things are changing so fast globally that timelines for new trade partners isn't going to be long at all. This definitely feels like a global restructuring on the fly and everyone has to move fast or sucked into the vortex.

This all sounds nice, but Carney won't be finding new customers for my business. Or the hundreds or thousands of Canadian businesses that export to the United States.
It's still up to those individual business' salespeople to find new customers. Not so easy with the Pacific to our left and the Atlantic to our right and the Panama Canal under threat.

I have been planning a pilgrimage to Deadwood for years and I'm finally in a position to do it this summer.
And now I probably won't. F### that orange orangutan.

I think it would be interesting for Democrats (or a neutral or another non-GOP-supporting organization) to hire a full-time press secretary who holds press conferences every evening on social platforms/streaming services/TV and publicly refutes every lie, inaccuracy, and bit of misinformation that comes out of the White House that particular day, with stats and sources to back it up. Provide a window for people to hear what's been lied to them that day.
At best it educates Americans who may need to hear it during these times, and at worst, it just drives Trump and his team absolutely nuts.

What was the deal with Hunter Biden again? why was it soooo corrupt?
Oh right! it is alleged that he joined the board of a Ukrainian PNG company to curry favour for more favourable policies from his dad.
What about this:
https://www.theblock.co/post/347420/...advisory-board
What's the deal with DEI policies? They restrict companies from hiring who they want in a free market? Government overreach? policy gone mad?
what about this?

Hypocrites. All of them. When will this stupid dream end.

Don't bother anyway, the Deadwood tour is a bore fest, when the top attraction is Hickok and Janes gravesites you know it's a waste of time
