That she tried to sneak in the provinces taking control of the industrial carbon tax is pretty telling. That was put in by Stelmach and harper to make sure that there was a control on the consumers being responsible for regulatory increases.
If alberta repealed that, it would be worse than if they just kept the consumer carbon tax. It only helps the corporations and the people getting kickbacks.

Weird thing, just a couple days ago busboobs was touting the reductions in emissions that industry has made. Makes a person wonder what set of numbers it was she was talking about.

Health Minister Adriana LaGrange dismissed the AHS board the same day the organization was scheduled to receive a report examining whether some of its
contracts were subject to "improper activity," according to docs.

Probably behind a pay wall..but this is new info.

I've never disagreed with an Alberta Premier more than this lady. She is beyond brutal.
Let's hope the people in Alberta wake up, stop buying her slop, and start noticing how much more aligned their interests are with a Nenshi led NDP.
I never thought i would say this, but the ANDP can count on my volunteer efforts next election.

Getting a little big for your britches there, Danielle. ####in' premiers. You elect them once and they think they run the country. You want to be PM? Go run for it(please don't though). Until then, stay in your lane.

If I am Carney my next move is to put a tax on oil going to the States. Smith thinks she can make that call and has more power than the Federal government, she doesn't. Time to give her a reality slap. Alberta's oil is not just an Alberta resource, it's a Canadian resource above all, just like Ontario's electricity.

Why does Smith always come off as such a CU next Tuesday? Was it really necessary to add the "at his request" in the front? Yet, if it's meeting a MAGA person, she's all fangirl and drooling over the opportunity.

Well that's easy. She comes off as a CU next Tuesday because she is a CU next Tuesday. "Does what it says on the tin" is the British expression.

So that would mean the report was done, right? Can we, uh, get that please? Seems like it would be very handy in sorting this out. Has Andre Tremblay seen it, since he is in charge of AHS?

How much do you want to bet a 2 minute google search can produce results about Smith (or a UCP patsy) complaining how Justin Trudeau refused to meet with Smith at some point.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
If she really did demand those things, and threaten a national unity crisis if not fulfilled, i wouldn't blame him for not coming back.

Wasn’t if Ford who slapped the tariff on electricity from Ontario ? Legitimately
Asking as I am not sure where provincial vs federal right starts and end in this case
Can Carney slap a tax on Alberta Oil exports ?

So Ford was going to slap a tax on electricity, that is a provincial matter and he can do that. If Carney wants to slap a tax on Alberta Oil and Smith says no his hands are tied, taxes are provincial. However tariffs are a Federal matter, so if Carney slaps a 25% tariff on oil Smith can rage all she wants and he can smile and give her the bird. That's how I understand it by looking at the laws. So I should have used the word tariff, not tax.

You would be incorrect - Under the Canadian Constitution (specifically Section 92A of the Constitution Act, 1867, as amended in 1982), natural resources like oil and gas fall under provincial jurisdiction. This means Alberta owns and manages the oil within its borders — it controls licensing, royalties, and land access.

But if it is crossing an international border, does that not make it subject to Federal jurisdiction, laws, taxes, etc? It's still federally regulated.
