As others have said, contact your own insurance and file a police report. At the very worst assuming he doesn't have insurance, your own insurance should cover the repairs. You might just be on the hook for your own deductible.

As for having the guy just pay for the repairs on his own, I have seen that end up going badly so many times. And that's just for the initial repairs. This week my car is going back for warranty body work from a claim 3 years ago. Because I dealt with my insurance I have lifetime coverage on the repair work.

Is there a requirement financial institutes and employers have to get Tslips into CRA by a certain time? Is it even a requirement to submit them? I.e. when I can I do the taxes and not worry about missing something that hasn’t come in the mail? Stuff is fresh in my head and don’t want to wait last minute like I usually do.

Well I didn't get a call, so I'm hurt, but the deadline for this year was last Friday, so you have to account for snail-mail and incompetence and then you're set to go!

Probably 2 weeks to be safe. They havent even cleared the backlog from their strike.

If and object was very difficult to drill through and someone refers to it as being a whore to drill through, that’s a commonly known phrase that people know what it means right?

Isn't the point of a whore that they are easy to drill? I think we've got it backwards.

I would say that's an oilfield saying. I heard it when I worked in the patch but never in any other context.

Yeah, but some slips aren’t due until the end of March. Like if you need to wait for a T3 (if you have non-registered investments) you should be waiting until April to file, IMO.

This is actually very true. So many slips are so late its maddening.

What annoys me most is that CRA has been hammering on people to "use the online portal!!"

And then people show up at my door and say...."Just get it online!"

But it isn't there.

So they don't get the physical copy, the online copy doesn't exist, but they assume that somehow I can magically conjure it.

This is late.

Yeah, but I also don’t understand why people are so excited to file right away. Some people want to gather their slips halfway through February!

Yeah I know. Its been a struggle.

The thing is, for long-time clients I look at trends and patterns and tell them: "Look, I'm not convinced that we have everything. There looks like things are missing. Unless you can explain that then this information is incomplete."

But I want to file!

It'll turn into a mess. You think I haven't seen how this plays out before? Just be patient.

"But I need my benefits now tho!!"

I understand, but those benefits are going to be calculated on incorrect information and then you're going to owe them money back...just...be patient.

This is common with many swear words. Who doesn't like a corksoaker? But you call someone that they get mad. Mother####er is another, perhaps created as a 'yo mamma thing but there are lots of Moms I would ... MILF is a thing for a reason.

I have definitely heard its a whore to ... and I never worked in the patch.

Obligatory:

I wonder if that is for bigger ticket items; and not for restaurant food. So if I want to order a laptop from Staples, I can split up the payment.

I agree that having to finance a Big Mac meal would be very silly.

Yeah in Ontario, for example, you can Doordash a $2000 set of golf clubs.

I can’t believe I spent two minutes reading an article on whether if you fart into a jar and tightly close the jar will the fart retain its smell.

If you’re too lazy to go get your own golf clubs what are the odds they sit in the garage never getting used?
