I’m curious…how long were you in the truck and what were people’s reactions? If it was a longish ride (not just around the block) be interested in the looks and any comments.
I wouldn’t want people to see me in that POS.
Not much beyond a rip around the block. Was meeting a big group for dinner and he took me for a ride since I like cars. That was all I had in me, anyway. Literally felt like I should have a red arm band on my bicep, so not a place I'd want to spend a lot of time. We were on Macleod for a bit and, unfortunately/surprisingly, we did not receive any negative attention. I flip the double bird whenever I see a Cybertruck, so I kind of expected some hate. Step up your game, Calgarians.
But take the Nazi POS Musk crap out of it for a second...if you like cars, the Cybertruck is a hilarious one to experience once. Glad I did. Embarrassed I enjoyed it. Don't have any desire to do it again. I would literally object to him driving me anywhere in it and would insist we take my truck.

I've never been in a Cybertruck, so I can't tell. But to me, it feels more like a carnival ride vs. a practical vehicle. Plus, you can't convince me otherwise that it's probably the uglest vehicle on the market by far. Still gives me the Homer Simpson designed car vibe.

Guy probably gets his science learning from Total Recall, and is just patiently waiting to find that girl with the 3 knockers so he can knock her up too.
I actually rewatched Total Recall recently and was surprised to see a similar angularity between the vehicles in the movie and the Cybertruck.

Musk thinks if he heats up the surface of Mars it will melt the ice and automatically create a livable atmosphere. He has the mind of a child and he’s watched way too many movies.
Is there anything that legally stops him from trying though?
As it stands right now, the technology doesn't exist to terraform Mars and it may never exist. The whole lack of a magnetic field thing is a major issue and may never be overcome. If one day, centuries from now, it were to become possible, you wouldn't want to look back in history and say, well we could have terraformed Mars, but some jackass from the 21st century named Elon Musk went to Mars and evaporated all the water into outer space, so now we can't.
I mean it would be a fitting legacy for him to go down as one of the biggest idiots in human history, but I feel like the human race has a duty to try an prevent that as well.

Well the smartest/richest man in the world has talked about nuking the polar ice caps so maybe the 1967 outer space treaty banning nukes in space? Both the US and South Africa ratified it but we know how the co-presidents like to ignore existing treaties and because of this hell timeline, probably not.
Oh and to further solidify the brand; Tesla is recalling over 45,000 Cybertruck vehicles in the U.S. to fix an exterior panel that could detach while driving (because it’s glued on).
Probably more common than you think. Not overwhelming common, but there are cars on the road other than Tesla's that have panels attached with adhesives rather than welds or fasteners.
Also, I honestly can't believe it but I probably see an average of 1/day in Calgary, and it's not like it is the same one in my community every day, today it was at Beddington and Deerfoot. There's a sucker born every day, because you need to be one not to have know what this truck was from the unveiling years ago.

The good news is we don't actually have to worry about Musk being the one to do it. He'll be dead before any of that becomes anything close to a remote possibly in his lifetime. Hell, we'll all be dead long before anything more than a small research base on Mars exists. Mars is a hard problem, and we haven't even had people on the moon since the 70's. Maybe start there?

The problem with the CT vs other vehicles is that the panels are so flat. They can flutter and vibrate, where a rounded panel won't. They are also thicker and heavier, so have more momentum when it happens. This all loosens the glue until fatigue. This is why the replacement part has welded fasteners, because they found glue alone couldn't overcome those issues.

On Colbert he said that he would set off Nukes at both the poles to start global warming.....

What other cars are these? And have they been recalled because their panels fly off while driving? Or fall off when its cold?
I need to know what other vehicles to avoid.

Ford has an issue with trim around windows flying off. I know it is an issue with the Ford Flex and Ford Explorer on the A pillar trim. With the Flex it is also an issue with the trim on the B, C and D pillars with B and C being less common and D being slightly more common but less so than the A pillar. The Ford Flex was never recall, that I know of, but the Explorer has a recall (https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos...chment-recall/)
Industrial strength adhesives are used in probably every vehicle these days, mostly in the body. Here's a video from 2012 of door assemblies(2:15 for adhesive):
Tesla just failed to do it properly, barbecue their head bloviator drew a triangle on a napkin and said "duuuuude, this is so cool. We should make this." And the engineers had to find ways to do it that no one ever used, because no one makes dumb vehicles like this thing.
Trim is not body panels.
The use of it on structural components is done in addition to mechancal/welded fasteners.
Musk must not have watched the full Gilligans Island episode where Gilligan made syrup from sap and it looked like a good glue to fix the SS Minnow with...until it got wet and failed.

Rational Person: So you believe global warming is real
T/ES: Well, yeah, you could do it by blowing up a bunch of nukes

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Cybertruck vehicles. The cant rail, a stainless-steel exterior trim panel, can delaminate and detach from the vehicle.
