My sister bought a Wrangler and we had to switch cars for a weekend and she didn't want to give mine back and I couldn't wait to get mine back.

The Wrangler must be the most poorly designed modern vehicle imaginable. I had one as a rental and also couldn’t wait to be rid of it.

I really enjoyed my brand new 2007 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara I had... for exactly a year before trading it in and making money on it. Having a manual transmission SUV was kinda awesome. And even though Chrysler et. al. have largely been hot garbage for a long time prior, the Stellantis era has been exceptionally poor.

Oh they're awful. The thing is...I wanted to love it! You can take the top off...but as I've said before...

They are expensive yet feel so cheap, they feel like they're assembled by disinterested children, the suspension is stupidly tight, they dont need those giant wheels, you feel every bump and crack in the road right in your teeth...

They're just a miserable driving experience.

You need to drive a wrangler 392! It’s crazy expensive, awful on gas, and who on earth thought it was a good idea to put a 470hp v8 in a jeep?

But if you grew up loving 4x4s and muscle cars - you start this thing up and love the sound. And it’s one of the funnest things I’ve ever driven. Too bad its made by stellantis and not Toyota.

Why, so they could stuff it with a lethargic and buzzy hybrid turbo 4-cylinder and bastardize one of their most respected nameplates?

I have seen several 4Runner and Land Cruiser reviews and the 4-cylinder engine is not a selling point with or without the hybrid. The 5.0L Lexus V8 is great but they would never stuff that in an SUV for a variety of reasons.

Great comparison of the latest model versus the ones that are an absolute bargain right now. Of course, starting at 8:15 this video starts f-cking killing me because I want to bring my damn car out already, but we're just not quite there yet in terms of weather.

7-speed Graziano twin-plate paddle shift. I have the S trim; they didn't put a plain ol' stick in the S until ~2014.

That's a lot of words to say automatic.

How are you liking the paddle shift compared to the manual you had before? At least I think you had a manual in the previous one...

I've driven the 6MT versions, they have a very... agricultural feel about the shifter. This sometimes leads people to try and shift them too forcefully which causes the shift linkage to come off and then, well, that's a nuisance to fix at the side of the road. Also, when the vehicle is cold, the transaxle is very stiff in the 1-2 shift, though some have reduced this by switching the transaxle fluid.

The clutch kiss point with the stock single-plate clutches fitted to the V8 is at a weird spot in the pedal travel, and early 4.3L cars had heavy flywheels so they were slow to rev, compared to later 4.7L cars and / or cars that have had the twin-plate clutch and lightweight flywheel fitted (like mine, a 4.7L twin-plate).

Overall it's not a bad manual. But not buttery goodness like my old E39 M5 was either.

The 7-speed SS2 -- especially with the twin-plate -- is a very rewarding and engaging transmission once you've familiarized yourself with it, and around town / in traffic it's head and shoulders better than the early 6-speed SS transaxle shared with the Ferrari F430. I also have the Vantage GT8's ASM firmware applied to my TCM, which adds further increases in line pressure for faster gear changes. At WOT, it is very quick.

Volvo discontinued the V60 recharge.

There is one - ONE - used V60 recharge for sale in Canada.

It is being sold at a $15,000 premium.

Clearly there is demand for these things. Why does Volvo hate money?

Volvo has a pretty aggressive EV plan going forward. ES90 announced a few weeks ago. Could it be there abandoning an older limited EV platform to go full bore on a superior one?

What do you guys do for car washing?

I see there's something called a rinseless car wash where you use a bucket and sponge and a specific kind of wash to wipe off the dirt and grime. Seems weird but there really isn't another option if you want to do it at home these days?

Or do you just take some soap and buckets to the wand wash when it's not busy and do it the traditional way?

Or there's places that look like very fancy touchless but how good can those really be?

In the winter I just use the spray bays with my preference being Top Gear. In the summer, for a light wash when I'm not removing lots of dirt I use Optimum No Rinse. It is a good product and an easy process.

Today was S5 pickup day. Halfway home, check engine light and warnings for the oil being overfilled. Park it in my condo parkade and there's oil leaking underneath the car. I text the sales guy and he keeps trying to tell me it's normal, and "he doesn't know if they have any loaners currently". Also the weather stripping on the driver's door has an awful seal so it sounds like a wolf howling in the cabin at anything over 100 kph. I take the car back to Audi Royal Oak and ask for someobody who isn't a moron. Manager comes out and of course immediately says they'll take the car back and now all of a sudden there's plenty of loaners available, so I have an A4 till tomorrow when the issues are hopefully resolved.

It's infuriating how dealerships try to take advantage of people.

It soured as soon as (after negotiating the price) I said I was buying the car in cash and not whatever BS financing they offer at 10% APR or whatever it is. Funny how that works.

I always go early in the morn or late in the evening and use an empty wash bay. I take a spray bottle full of a mixture of water and Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss. I give it a quick rinse with the wand and then spray the entire vehicle with the solution. Finally I use the wand to rinse off the solution from my vehicles. After that I get out my microfiber cloths and wipe down the entire vehicle and all the insides of all the doors. A spray of Invisible Glass on all the windows to remove any film left by the wash. I do this both in the winter and summer.

I've only had success with small town dealerships. Word travels fast in a small community and it can kill a dealership if they are giving bad service or sales.
