Again, that is what happens when you cut a tax.

Yes, that is the useful bit of information. Do you not see how that is more usable for discussion and probably for whatever point you're trying to make?
If you really want to succeed here you could also add in additional points to that information. E.g. "This is what you get for using CT money as general revenue!" or "They should have kept the CT in place to deliver services as intended."

It doesn't have to be, if you project that the tax cut will stimulate enough economic activity to increase the tax base to compensate.

Maybe phrased poorly, I just meant perhaps more Jack Layton-y, so they can still have some seats? I don't' at all expect them to become the Liberals. But sometimes they get a little too far gone for me, anyway.

What kind of an idiot would vote liberal after the last 9yrs. Especially since the new liberal leader is an activist millionaire who will profit from forcing Canadians to pay for his green agenda. I don't know what is worse, becoming the 51st state or having Carney as PM, I can't see any upside to Carney.

The kind of idiot who is terrified of Carney handing the country over to Trump.

You don’t know what’s worse? JFC, uninstall. Not a serious person.

This should be the NDP's golden chance. Yes, their deal with the Libs helped get some stuff passed that normally the Libs wouldn't care about, but the tradeoff was the hit to their reputation among other videos, and Jagmeet ended up viewed as a hand-in-hand to Trudeau's ills.

Perhaps it was inevitable but he certainly didn't help himself or his party by constantly threatening to bring down the government and never doing it.

Time will tell how this will affect the NDP going forward.

Sure seems like not a heck of a whole lot.

I guess if I said everyone should have voted for O'Toole I might as well give in and agree that Carney will get 75% of things right, and the other 25% no candidate will never get right.

Let's not forget that yesterday Carney was questioned about any potential conflicts of interest and his answer was "what possible conflict would you have". Rosie Barton asked a followed up "Are you saying you are not going to have any conflict of interest?" Carney replied "Yes."

But now we learn that his team has already been making proposals for screens to deal with potential conflicts of interests.
Why doesn't he just divest and get to the point where he doesn't have any conflicts? I know if I want him to be PM I want him to not have to deal with these issues.

All the Liberal voters got themselves into a pickle right now given that Trump basically endorsed Carney.

So on one hand it might mean they are able to work together and get a 'deal' done.
On the other hand I guess all the stupidity about 'PP gonna sell us out bro!' really makes everyone saying it really sound stupid.

Hilarious.

If you can’t see the ridiculous, blatantly obvious juvenile psychological game Trump is playing here then you’re a serious clown. Putin also said he preferred Biden over Trump which was also blatantly stupid BS. You’re an easy mark.

That’s why the assets are in a blind trust. They could be sold and the proceeds used to buy other assets that he has no knowledge of. That’s the point of the blind trust. The assets are out of his control.

Pierre Poilievre will never be Prime Minister of Canada.

I said this like 8 months ago and it's still true.

The guy is not a serious candidate. He belongs on the sidelines where his "verb the nouns" have most effect.

It’s hard to believe people could be fooled into supporting the liberals after the last 9.5 years.

Almost as if there are bigger issues for most Canadian's right now than Left vs Right. Especially when the Liberals are far closer to center than the current UCP.

I have never in my life voted Liberal but I 100% will be next election as my countries sovereignty is far more important to me than old party lines that have shifted so much in recent years they are no longer what they once were.

I strongly suspect I am not alone as a lot of conservative voters feel they no longer have a party.
