I hope you’re right. We’ll be out if the country soon for a few weeks and would prefer not to return to a country at war militarily.

I think nothing is off the table for this White House. They inaccurately are painting a picture that Canada's fentanyl is such a problem for them that they needed to enact punitive and destructive tariffs. Is it really a stretch to think that the US deploys the military to "the border regions of Canada" to protect the US population from this weapon of mass destruction on their doorstep? And once they are in these regions, is it stretch that they hold some sham elections saying that the people here want to join the US to feel safe? Voila, Canada becomes a US territory.
This is Trump's "nazis in Ukraine" pretext to expand his empire.

I do not share your optimism regarding the average American in the military or otherwise. They've shown themselves to be at best apathetic, and at worst vindictive.

It won't be a rah rah we're going to invade Canada moment. It'll start out as security measures at the border. Military personnel wouldn't oppose that of course. Then little by little they will expand the scope of their 'special military operation' to check stops around Southern Canada for security purposes. Then it expands until there is a massive garrison in Calgary and at that point changing the flag at the Harry Hays building just becomes a formality.

Me neither.
I think the more optimistic people are looking at it in the moment instead of what it's building into. They are still working on the pretext and the character assassination of our country. Who knows how the average American will feel about Canada in a few months or a year from now. They are easily manipulated through their patriotism.
The U.S. could also launch a "special military operation" on Canada with never having to see the whites of our eyes. A U.S. soldier might have reservations about looking a Canadian in the eyes during combat, but missile and drones depersonalize it.

It wasn’t long ago that I’d agree with that completely. But things are changing quickly, and other countries know they are next in line. They have to alliance at some point.
Ain't nobody coming to help us, that should be clear by now. We need to develop them nukes, or maybe the UK can ship us 15 or so to give us some kind of deterrent. My faith is more in the Dow Jones, Trumps ability to do anything is predicated on his slack jawed rubes supporting him and he wont have any support as the US crashes into a full blown depression as his policies destroy the economy, Hitler and Mussolini delivered prosperity, Trump is bring poverty, that will be our salvation ironically

You are wrong. There is a big difference between how countries see Ukraine and Canada. History repeats itself, it always does. You are talking WW3 that ends up with the United States looking like post war WW2 Germany. Trump is stupid enough to think Russia would back him but they would turn on him just destroy the Western super power. China would also use it as an excuse to destroy their main competition in the world market wise. It would be a war the US can't win and I guarantee US intelligence already knows this. Republicans in Congress are fine letting their deranged leader spew whatever he wants but I think you would see his own government impeach him pretty fast and get him out of there before there was ever an invasion of Canada.
