That’s not the way the trade market works. If no team was willing to pay Conroy’s price for Andersson it’s because the market didn’t think he was worth that much.
Carlo returned a 1st and a decent B prospect. I have to think if Conroy genuinely had Andersson on the market, he could have got the same return.
